Caupain was in at the end, shows me he will be getting the starting PG minutes here soon. Also was nice to see Lawrence get meaningful minutes in the second half, he is way too talented to play spot minutes at the 4. I know it could hurt the defense but I wouldn't mind seeing Lawrence in with Jackson and Rubles since they aren't getting much from Thomas/Sanders.

If anything, SK hasn't been aggressive enough. He only took 9 shots against X, that isn't enough for this team that has no one else. He is trying to get others involved. He has in no way shape or form been jacking up bad shots this year. Last year there were plenty of times but he hasn't been doing that this year. SK is the teams only hope.

And are you seriously saying that SK hasn't been a factor? Seriously? The defense is completely focusing on him and he has still been the only player to put up points.

I agree. Let's see "you" trying to put up shots in a D that ONLY has to focus on YOU and then let's see YOU call YOURSELF out for making shots.

Thomas is by far the most disappointing player at this point. I don't see Mick replacing GG anytime soon. I liked GG tonight....amazing defense, had a nice drive to the rack, and hit a big 3. Can't bench him on this performance.

I don't think you can play Lawrence with Rubles and Jackson at the same time because we don't have enough depth at the 4 and 5 spots. I am completely okay with Lawrence playing around 20 minutes per game though. I think he can split his minutes at the 4 and 5 in relief of Rubles and Jackson, and I wouldn't mind us going small with Thomas at the 4 for 3-5 minutes per game. It just depends on who we are going against. If it's a small team, go with 3 guards for a decent amount... if not, give those extra minutes to Nyarsuk and hope for the best.

I agree that Thomas was disappointing, but when I see him break down guys off the dribble, it's obvious how much potential he has. We have to keep playing him big minutes, if not for this season, then for the future. It's not like he's any worse than any of the guys coming off the bench outside of Caupain.

Starters minutes doesn't mean you have to bench Guyn. He is a good defensive player and a decent shooter, if he is on you keep him in and if not you take him out.

I might be the only one in this game but I thought GG played a good game. JS played well but shot horribly. At some point we are going to need someone else to help SK. I still think we are better off with our frosh....but this win is huge IMO.

I agree with GG...played one heck of a game

By "you" I don't mean you

I split Guyn and Troy at this point, with KJ sparing Sean. I'm not quitting on Shaq but he needs to be reforming his shot 24 hours a day. If he does not get in the SK gym rat mentality, he will never be more than a Darnell Wilks. Lawrence getting more minutes might motivate him to that, or at least provide Jermaine with some development.

Once again, I have to disagree. His defense was really good...at times. At times it was pretty bad as well. I mean his stat sheet was 5 pts on 2-6 shooting, 0 assists, 0 rebounds, 0 steals. Granted, at least he didn't have any turnovers but man we don't expect much out of the PG role do we? He now has 5 points and zero assists in his last three games. That is horrendous, I don't care how good your defense is.

I agree on the offnesive end but I thought he played really good on the ball D. Maybe I was missing something. But I doubt it.

I agree offensively without a doubt

You don't think SK would have been blamed for throwing a bad pass when Sanders was wide open under the basket, which led to the only Pitt basket in the last 14 minutes?

Dan and Chuck said near the end of the game that it is just a matter of time before Caupain is starting. Both directed their comments on how Guyn had 0 assists and he is an outside passer, can't make the pass in the lane when penetrating.

While GG didn't put up any numbers, he completely shut down whoever he was guarding. Look at the Box Score and see what their 50% guards shot for the game. I wish he mixed it up more in the paint with his vertical leaping ability. He should be good for a few rebounds/game. He handles the ball well, just doesn't pass for assists, but then neither does anyone else. Six assists for the whole team
