You could tell at his half time interview that he was rattled by the fact we were in the game and playing like some grown ass men. He got all offended when the lady asked him questions about our physicality. He said something to the effect of, we're still undefeated right? What the hell, could you be any more of a slime ball? His programs are more grimy than a Tijuana whore house.

Yup, looks about right.

Those announcers sucked, as did the refs, and I'm not one to usually complain about the refs. But they let UK's bigs get away with murder while UC got called for every touch foul. UK was also allowed to travel on every play yet Ellis gets called for a travel when he didn't even move his foot. Harrison traveled twice in one possession and no call which ended up in a made 3.

UC did just about everything right except make shots and finish. Clark is going to be a stud but he really struggles at finishing close shots.

Cobb had an off game which UC couldn't afford but the offense just creates so few open shots. Of course a lot has to do with UK's defense, but still, UC's offense just doesn't create wide open looks.

Hopefully KJ improves a lot. He just doesn't seem to have it. Can barely dribble which isn't good for a guard. He has good size but that's about it.

Deberry needs to get in shape. If he does he'll be tough to keep off the floor.

This team has potential next year but I think they are still a big time scorer away from being a really good team. They just struggle too much to create offense.

Cobb was going to have to hit tough shots in this one, UK's guards are all over 6'5'', Cobb is what barely 6'1'' and struggles to get space against college defensive teams...let alone a semi-pro one. They missed several shots at the rim that they easily could have made and this would have been a close game coming down the stretch. I was actually somewhat impressed with the looks the offense was able to get.

Face it. If this were wrestling, UC is the heel. I don't know if that's remnants of Huggs years or what, but it is my observation that any time we are nationally important we are the bad guy or villain stepping on the white knights of yore. What's going on with that? I haven't been following UC bball for an exceptionally long time, can someone shed light on how that started? When? If there ever a time it wasn't true?

Huggins started it and its never left Cincy. Teams do the same thing we do (sometimes not as good) but its okay when they do it. Cincy is held to a double standard. Its just like Huggins and WVU is praised for how "tough" they play. But that same style is frowned upon at Cincy. UK throws elbows and they are playing hard. UC throws elbows and we are playing dirty. etc. etc. Cronin has kept the mantra going. I think a large part is because when he became coach, we were in the GREATEST bball conference of all time. We had zero talent in the cupboard for him. The only way for UC to win in the Big East was to play harder and more physical than your opponent.

i.e. UK shoots 37% from the field, public says they played good and hard
UC shoots 32% from the field we can't shoot

I don't think we will gain any media respect til we start winning in the tourney. If you win big in March, they are forced to say positive things. Til we do, we're just a team that is scrappy but can't get over the hump. It is what it is.

UKKK Wildcat fans are total class!!

Octavius Ellis is a punk. Glad his career is over! I can see prison in his future.

If you looked up thug in the dictionary, next to it you would find Octavius Ellis.

I'm sure some future jury will find Octavius Ellis's story very touching.

“@Hagan_5: "@byates31: Enjoy prison, Octavius Ellis" real classy haha @BBN” he can meet up with Chris Jones homie

There are a lot more with a particular word, if you know what I'm saying...

Not surprising, when your sister is also your cousin and you get liquored up on hillbilly moonshine it leads to those kinds of tweets.

Just ventured over there myself, reaffirms that I hate most of BBN. Theres a reason they are hated nation wide.

I hate Kentucky more than any other sports franchise. I can respect success, but no other fan base is so volatile. I can't stand them. Some of my friends (who also happen to be UK fans) on Facebook were complaining about the Tech Harrison got, but you clearly see him walk right in to Ellis on purpose. But hey, he's a Kentucky player so it's ok.

How can you blame them, even the announcers acted like they didn't get it. They completely ignored the fact that Harrison knew exactly what he was doing and went out of his way to run into Ellis then push him.

Just read some of Kentucky's rivals board. Not something I plan on doing ever again.

Wow. I just checked it out. Very strange. They don't seem to talk a whole lot about actual basketball. And you would have no idea by reading that they are 36-0 and in the Sweet 16. What a miserable place. Needless to say, I won't be going back there either.

Harrison wouldn't have gotten the T if he didn't extend his arm. Pretty simple. Not sure why they were so upset about that call...but then again, they were upset when the fouls were 8-3 and free throws were 10-0...

Exactly. UK were whining about the fouls even though it wasn't close in the first half. It evened up some in the second half, but they're a fanbase that thinks every call should go their way and when it doesn't they cry about it. Townes was throwing bows each each he posted up. How is that not a foul? Why is Ellis a punk, but Harrison isn't for instigating? Oh that's right, they're wearing blue and Cincy players aren't. That's the only difference.

I remember when we won our championships, Adolph Rupp said we were not true champions because we did it the "wrong way." He meant we had black players, and nearly the whole hillbilly fan base echoed the same crap. Different now, they'll root for Cauley-Stein, but they don't want him living in their neighborhood.

Pretty amazing the Bearcats didn't have a single free throw in the first half, despite going inside nearly every possession and having 18 paint points.

I loved Ellis today, he kept his cool, got under the skin of much better players, he was just outnumbered. Did nothing dirty, just played hard, physical basketball. UK guys didn't like it because Ellis didn't back down.

Simply outmatched, hopefully Huggs can take them out next round (don't think WV can score enough either though).
