Tough way to end the season but kudos to Coach Davis and our team. I have watched with utter disappointment for the past decade at an incompetent offense year in and year out. This season, we actually played very smooth and fluid. The talent just wasn't there. Give Coach D the same talent as Cal and Davis would beat him 7 out of 10 times. Would love for Cronin to retire and see what Davis could do, but......

I went down to the game. Two tickets for two games cost 150. Went to Bluegrass Brewing, had a couple good pale ales and apps, and off to the game. Blue Grass Brewing one block from arena. Also went down for Purdue on Thursday night with similar prices for tickets. Alot of UK fans both nights but obviously more on Saturday. I was thoroughly disappointed in the UC turnout at the UC/UK game. Honestly, there were maybe five UC fans in our entire section. Literally, the entire arena was full of UK fans, at least 17K. All seats were taken. I did see three rows of UC allotted seats at the UCATS area that were empty. Completely empty. Not sure how that happens. UCATS area for big donors on lower level near scoring table. Each team got an entire section. The UC section sat on their collective you know whats most of the game. Only saw them up chanting a couple of times throughout. Not to mention the top two rows of the UC lower level UCATS area were used by blue shirts. Not sure about that one either. Most of the UK fans were good about the game, friendly and humble but obviously even when behind in the first half, some were not. None that were seated near us, but some nasty fans a couple of sections to our left. They were squirming when behind late in the first half. Good to see their faces when were leading and not long after Shaq dunked on them in the first half. I thought the refs were bad. At the start of the game and through the first 10 minutes, it did not appear that we got one call. Davis started jawing with the refs then we got a couple calls but only then. After Moore was put in late in the first half around 3:26 mark, all went to he-- in a bucket. We didn't snap out of it until about 2 minutes left in the game, by that time UK up by 19. Disappointed, but not ready to jump off any bridges.

You should just stop following UC and troll on another team. Cronin isn't going anywhere, get over it. If Cronin keeps trolls like you away from our fanbase I hope he retires here.

I think we are in agreement that we will never have comparable talent to the upper level teams. U.C. does a great job coaching up the players cronin can get, but he can barely crack the top 100 players. If he could possibly get a couple high talent players a year u.c. could probably avoid first weekend exits.

This might be one of the few times I have or would ever say this but someone needs to make All Sharpton and or Jesse Jackson aware of all the racism within BBN. Just throwing it out there.

Did you guys see some of the player interviews in the locker room after the game? Chad has it over on BCJ if you want to check it out. The Kentucky people asking Ellis questions are so arrogant it is unbelievable. I really think they expected Ellis to bow down and worship Kentucky. Ellis most certainly did not give them what they expected. I was very happy about that. He was even laughing at the guy for being so ridiculous and eventually just pretty much ignored him.

The honest truth is that I felt Ellis and Corey played Towns and Cauley-Stein evenly at least, and outplayed them at times. Lyles was a difference maker though. And our guards struggled. 6-27 for Caupain, Cobb and KJ. Loved Caupain's aggression but wish he had penetrated and passed instead of trying to shoot against the trees. He also needed to use his body a little better on those drives, like he did late in regulation against Hammond and Purdue.

But we knew what the liabilities were going in, Kentucky had a lot to do with exacerbating those liabilities. Can't fault the effort or the gameplan, and I can't be upset with a group of guys that gave their absolute all and did us proud.

Wish we could have that minute Quadri was on the floor back. I totally get what LD was trying to do there but QM doesn't have enough self-awareness yet to realize he shouldn't be shooting 3s, especially cold off the bench. And while I agree with some here that maybe Moore should've been used differently during the regular season for development purposes, doesn't at least a portion of that fall on the kid? He clearly didn't get it at times this year, hence the short suspension. He has 2 choices: realize that he didn't understand the consistency of effort required to get playing time at UC, and resolve to get better this offseason, or feel slighted and misunderstood and transfer. Choice is up to him.

Historically the underground railroad emptied out in Ohio, not Kentucky.
Looks like they've learned nothing in the past hundreds of years, not surprising.

The backcourt was the achilles heel all year. The fact that we out rebounded Kentucky and challenged a ton of their shots bodes well for our front court going into next year. The guards have a lot of work to do this off-season.

The blog said this, but it could probably be said every year...

"But Cincinnati simply lacked enough offensive skill to pull off the upset..."

I meant more in that they gave us some props for playing Kentucky well. I don't think anything they said about us, whether positive or negative, was untrue.

How much do you have to pay black basketball players to go to kentucky and forget about the racism? Good lord. How can these fans be like this? If any of those players didnt play for kentucky. Kentucky fans wouldn't want anything to do with them. And that is a sad state of affairs happening in lexington

I don't really pay attention to other fan bases, so I had no idea that Kentucky fans were like that. What an eye opening experience. It is absolutely disgusting. I can't believe there are people out there like that.

I currently go to professional school down in Lexington, and so many of their fans are absolutely dreadful. It's like they have nothing else to live for in life besides their cayyyuutts. Also I found it funnier than hell that all their fans were applauding Ashley Judd for filing legal actions against Arkansas fans that were harassing her via twitter...... and then all the crap they said about Ellis. Completely disgusting. They are beyond delusional. Also you all might enjoy this, last year after UK lost to UConn in the finals I stood on my balcony and threw clementine oranges at all their fans who were leaving the streets from angry riots (if you have seen the videos of cars and couches burned) and made fun of them.... petty of me but i enjoyed it haha

Have a friend who was a huge UK fan in high school. Went to eku for college and now cant stand UK because of the fans. He coulsnt associate himself with something like that

Cobb was going to have to hit tough shots in this one, UK's guards are all over 6'5'', Cobb is what barely 6'1'' and struggles to get space against college defensive teams...let alone a semi-pro one. They missed several shots at the rim that they easily could have made and this would have been a close game coming down the stretch. I was actually somewhat impressed with the looks the offense was able to get.

I don't know if it showed on TV, but everytime Cobb got the ball in shooting position UK did a great job of getting someone on him with a hand up. There was no way he was getting the shots off with the height of UK. Really sucks because he was the one guy we needed to get hot and hit some threes.

They have the worst fans.

I thought the same thing about the crowd. UC section not even full of Bearcat fans and the rest of the arena was sprinkled very sparse with red and black. Our fans will bitch and moan all the time about UC needs to do this or that, blah, blah, blah but too few actually put their money forward and support the team. UK fans bought that arena out. We can hate all we want they they have better fans than us IMO. Of course some are dumb. I've read some dumb stuff on here about how all their fans are toothless and on moonshine, so... We aren't big time because our fans don't make us big time. But, enough of the rant, I did my part and cheered them proudly in a sea of blue. When Ellis got the T on the other guy and was getting booed relentlessly after that I stood up as I was near that basket and yelled they hate you Ellis and pounded the Cincinnati on my chest and said we love the hate. The crowd was very homer but not many bad fans from what I saw. We had one in the row in front of us that thought he was cute by telling us we could beat the traffic if we left early. My friend lit into him about winning with class and they clearly got one of the greatest teams and we are just trying to root on our team and neither of them were playing so just root your team on and keep your mouth shut. No other UK fans chimed in or seemed to have a problem and he felt stupid, especially in front of his kid and never said another word. Fans behind us at end of game agreed with me when I said we wanted to give them a battle and we did and that their players needed better control since they let Ellis get into their head. They agreed to that.

We have plenty in our own city and fanbase and even on this board.
