Nice post. Personal attacks should not be tolerated on posters, coaches or players.

The coach is a paid employee making over $2 million a year. In my opinion he is fair game, not so much for personal attacks, but absolutely for questioning his performance. Marvin Lewis and Dusty Baker got bashed and questioned continuously. Marvin is still getting it. It comes with the territory.

You want to question his decisions or call for his firing that is fine. If someone disagrees with that and responds again fine. The personal attacks need to go. Just because a guy makes money doesn't make it right. I lived through the Cincy.com days. I have no issue with opinions only agendas.

This is the 1st post I've made since the game. I 100% support Jacob in what he is trying to do here. He is trying to change this site into a place where all Bearcat fans have a voice, not just the ones who worship Mick Cronin. Contrary to what many on here believe, the kind of post made in this thread by Amberlycolonel, which eventually got UCAlum banned for his personal attack, is a very common and popular opinion of Mick Cronin outside of this website. For years, if you voiced an opinion against Mick Cronin on this site, you were personally attacked and eventually banned. I know, I've been banned many times for just stating an opinion, never for personal attacks against fellow posters. I support the program, the team, and the coach unconditionally. But, I don't have to believe that he is our best option to lead this program. There are many fans who dress in red and black, attend every single game, cheer their butts off, and despise this coach. That is just the facts. Jacob is changing this site to what it should be, a place where all Bearcat fans can speak and banning those that should be banned....the ones who toss out personal attacks, questionable language, and other insults at fellow Bearcat fans who might not have the same opinion as theirs. A good poster is not one who loves Mick Cronin. A good poster is one who loves the Cincinnati Bearcats. It's about time that those who will personally attack other posters are getting tossed out of here. It's gone on far too long, and it is why this site was going downhill. Bravo to Jacob for taking a stand.

As to Bulldog, I don't understand half of what he is saying. He is all over the place. He posts so much that it is hard to follow his train of thought. I don't enjoy his posts that much, but he certainly has a right to be heard, until he starts attacking other posters which I guess is why he got banned yesterday.

As for the game, we tried hard, but we just don't have the level of talent to realistically have a shot. Next year will be better (I hope). The expectations will be high, and I hope what is still a pretty weak offensive team, will have a big transformation in the next 6 months. Whether or not that will happen is certainly something for many to debate. I am ready for some significant success for a change.
I was banned from this board a few times early on in Mick's tenure too because I was one of the few that were very critical of him. Now I've realized that Mick is about as good of a coach as this program can afford and will actually stay for a long time. Not to mention he'll be here either until he retires or some bigger job comes up that wants him. I don't bring it up anymore. You're welcome to your opinion but repeating it over and over again is annoying and derails discussions on other topics.

No big deal, I'm just more interested in how much I still hate their fans is all, and I just met them the other day so I haven't had much time to really let it sink in.

Lol! They are quite obnoxious. Believe it or not I live with one.

....and stating over and over again how great of a coach Mick is, and how wonderful everything is here, is equally annoying and also derails discussions on other topics. On this site, that opinion is repeated 400 times more than the ones against him. If fans are allowed to speak freely on this site, you may find that over time, your opinion may become far less popular...like it is on the street. And with that, I have stated my last opinion on the subject.

Mick will be the coach next year. I will support him as usual at the games, and maybe even on here if things improve.

Kentucky, Xavier, and Ohio State all suck. Their fans all suck. I hate them all. I was able to yell a lot of my feelings at the Kentucky idiots all day yesterday. I did my part. It still wasn't enough.

I currently go to professional school down in Lexington, and so many of their fans are absolutely dreadful. It's like they have nothing else to live for in life besides their cayyyuutts. Also I found it funnier than hell that all their fans were applauding Ashley Judd for filing legal actions against Arkansas fans that were harassing her via twitter...... and then all the crap they said about Ellis. Completely disgusting. They are beyond delusional. Also you all might enjoy this, last year after UK lost to UConn in the finals I stood on my balcony and threw clementine oranges at all their fans who were leaving the streets from angry riots (if you have seen the videos of cars and couches burned) and made fun of them.... petty of me but i enjoyed it haha

I know a UK fan that got a clementine in the ear last year after the championship game. Funny, now I know where it came from. ha, ha.

If WVU plays anything like they did against a very good Maryland team, Kentucky could go down. It would be no finer than to have Bob Huggins do the job. If I'm not mistaken, Huggins has a good record against Calipari (sleezy cal).

This is not directed at you LT...I think you do a good job of using objective data in your posts.

It's not the criticism about the coach or players that upset people like myself. It's HOW it gets said! I've heard these kids called worthless, bums, and couldn't play for a junior high girl team etc.

I don't have a problem with criticism about areas of weakness for players and coaches but we can do that without humiliating comments. Any "fan" in here who wants to use that type of language against our players..."bum" "worthless" etc (and they don't get kicked out for personal attacks) then they should be ready and willing to receive the same type of personal attack right back at them without complaining.

There is a HUGE difference between a well thought out post on why one player or coach may not be right for this program...and just flat out trying to humiliate them. If you can't keep your emotions in check during a game then perhaps you should not be posting during a game??? Don't use it as an excuse to make it OK to berate players and coaches!

Totally agree with you. I'm assuming you aren't directing your comments at me. I don't post during games. Generally, I'm at the games and the tickets cost so much that I prefer to actually watch the games instead of continually typing what my emotions are. For road games, I don't generally post during games either.

it's basketball and barber shop talk. players abd coaches don't see or hear us talking about them either. If my 7yr old son miss wide open layups I'm calling him bum. Likewise if i miss layups I get called bums. nothing personal just two competitive guys going at it. Now if i started calling him dumb, stupid, thug, or low IQ now I'm throwing disrespectful blows

Here is the difference. You say the players don't see or hear us talking about them, maybe that is the case in the bar or a barber shop but the crap that gets posted here stays here forever for anyone to see. If you think the players are completely shielded from this you are badly mistaken.

Now in your defense this happens on all the boards for every school, I just don't like it.

Thing is if you actually go to game these guys have it even worse. If a spends his hard earned money on game he has every right to give reviews on product. Basketball players get fully funded scholarships, their getting paid to perform at high levels. Reason why scholarships are giving out on year to year basis. I've never attacked a player for something OFF court, ON court as fans we can say whatever if not disrespectful. If a guy misses five straight layups, what do you want people to say? It's alright just make next one?

I do go to the games, been going to them since the 1970's. Can honestly say I have never booed a college player from the team I support. I have had my words for the coaches but not the players.

I am not arguing with you about what goes on at games, just think that some of the things that are said in the in game threads are questionable at best. Only my opinion though

We're not arguing. No disrespect to you but if you've been going to games since 70's and never booed that lets me know were totally different individuals. I only care about championships nothing else. I've booed while we've been blowing out teams. Doesn't make you or me no lesser or more of men for approach we have as fans. Last Time we lost to Kentucky me and jihad Muhammad had wrestling match over couple players house because I didn't think he cared about program like I did. the year after we got beat at buzzer by west Virginia the next day kenyon was in barber shop. I let him have it on how can man get haircut after losing like that. my passion for team goes beyond some other fans passion. 97% of fans only like team because they went to school here. I bleed red and black.

One thing I will give you is that it has been frustrating that a few of Mick's recent recruiting classes have not panned out. His JUCO additions this season with Ellis, DeBerry, and Cobb were solid. Gary Clark is so much fun to watch and a step in the right direction. Troy Caupain took a step forward but didn't take as big of a step as I would've hoped. KJ is frustrating because he is so streaky. Shaq has been a disappointment-I really wanted to see a big leap this year and it didn't happen. Sanders never really developed into a solid player, he just was a mediocre role player his whole career. Guyn was a major disappointment. Morman and Moore weren't quite as good as I had hoped, but they are still young. I hope one of those two pan out. I'm excited about Jennifer, Evans, and Scott. We need Evans to be good right away.
