17-2 Cincy run, taking the lead!

They are showing heart, good shooting, teamwork, protecting the ball....

39-33 at halftime. We finished strong.

Observations:

1. Our bigs cannot guard on the perimeter. Period.

2. We are exponentially better when are in transition and taking shots after 3-4 passes off a defensive rebound.

3. GREAT adjustment by Mick to go with one big (Yancy), one forward (Bishop) and three guards.

4. The "smaller" adjustment allows us switch all guard to guard screens on the perimeter. Yancy guards Butler, so it isn't that big of a liability.

We tried to inflict our will early and we couldn't contend on the defensive end. We had to make an adjustment and we did.
 
39-33 at half.

I think with 7 min or so remaining, UC was down 31-18. That's a 21-2 run to close out the half. Outstanding.

Agreed. We can't guard them w/ bigs, nor can UC afford to give them open looks.
Best game I've seen from UC in a while.
 
Yeah, the pump fakes are making us look bad, and giving them wide open lanes to drive, and then dish.
 
LS needs to calm the hell down.

UC can't keep switching and leave guys open for 3. If someone beats a man, a lower guy on the block should move a little and help.
 
Nice penetration layup by DV. Like to see him, Bishop, Dixon keep flashing to the bucket. Go for layups!
 
I can't believe the offense in the last 1:30. A TO, long 3 by Cash, and a crappy shot by Bishop. Why not put Gates in the game, or have DV with the ball?
(sigh)
 
I'm not sure how UC plays any better than they have today. Perhaps Lance makes more shots, but he's iffy anyways.
 
I thought we played a well played. Well coached game.

Marquette had their senior leader step up in a big way.
