Mick a Candidate for UNLV?

Mick is still the coach. We're still focusing on football. When it's time to ask season ticket holders to pony up for the new arena and higher priced tickets, that's when the rubber will hit the road. It won't work if Mick is still the face of the program........unless he pulls an elite 8 out of his bag of tricks next year.

L-T do you have season tickets?

In 10 years, you pick his one real success story. Remember, SK was here 5 years and was nearing 25 years old when he left and was pretty average until his great senior season. The fact that we often wait 3-4 years before most of his recruits ever pan out, is a huge negative. Clark showed some flashes this year, but is still very inconsistent. Evans came on late and may be an exception. We'll see.

You really like to discount anything that doesn't prove your point. So Clark hasn't gotten any better? I guess he was defensive player of the year when he showed up on campus as a freshman. Troy hasn't gotten any better? I guess he was conference first team when he showed up. DeBerry didn't get any better in his 2 years here, right? Your rhetoric is old.

Yes, 54 consecutive years. Don't do the math. I'm not that old. Started going with my dad as a little kid the year we lost to Loyola in the national championship.

Yes, i know. I was joking. After all, you remind us every post. I love the passion but JasonS just obliterated your claim that cronin doesn't develop players.

I guess you can't read. I said they get better in 3-4 years. Troy was in year 3. I acknowledged Clark. Evidently Mick didn't think DeBerry got any better. He didn't play him any more. Your agenda is getting old as well.

No you didn't. You acknowledged Evans. You said Clark "showed some flashes." Backhanded compliment if I've ever seen one.

I like Mick and want him to succeed. However, if he leaves we will be in much better shape than when we fired Huggs. Now, if we fired Mick, we would have to go through another rebuild job.

Mick isn't going to UNLV and it is annoying that he is entertaining offers.

And for the record, my agenda is very simple. I support the program without tearing down players or coaches. If that is old, so be it.

I know, supporting your team is a terrible agenda to have. Shame on me. You've made it clear that you have unrealistic expectations. Players and teams growing and improving into senior led teams is what college basketball is supposed to be about. You want a FAB FIVE every year? get over it

Gone. His comment about the fans and doing his daughter homework shows he's getting heat from somewhere and has had enough.

What does his daughter's homework have to do with anything? Just curious cause I don't see the correlation. By all accounts, Mick is very family oriented.

It's certainly possible that Mick is losing booster support. None of us really know what's going on behind the scenes but the fact that he'd even entertain an offer from UNLV and meet with their president (reportedly) is somewhat telling if it's true. Certain key players are being asked to pony up big for this new arena, maybe some of them aren't entirely happy with Mick's product?

There have been very few that garner the recognition of the great L-T. I mean he has season tickets for christs sake

Jason didn't obliterate anything. It's a common theme that Cronin's players don't improve much. You can find some outliers, but in general, they don't develop and the annual results bear that out. We win no championships and we get bounced from the tourney early every year. If you want to see how players are supposed to develop with good coaching, turn Xavier on right now and you'll see how that is supposed to work and look.

Are you and Jason season ticket holders?
