Mick a Candidate for UNLV?

Mick was the 22nd highest paid coach in the country the last time I looked. #10 was still less than $3 Million. That means that we are not far below having one of the top 10 best paid coaches in the country. If you think we couldn't attract some great candidates paying that much, money, with our tradition, with a new arena on the way, and a possible P5 affiliation, then you are absolutely crazy. Plus, the next guy wouldn't have tremendous results and championships to have to live up to. This is a great job to pursue.

If Cronin left on his own, we would definitely be an attractive job. If we fired him, it would not make us look so good.

The second he gets on that plane, assuming the rumor is true which is a big assumption, Bohn should fire him. UC has given him anything he could possibly want and he's grossly overpaid. You'd be firing for cause at that point with zero negative effect on the next search.

With no championships, it wouldn't look that bad. One single achievement....don't win a championship and get an at large bid 6 years in a row, only to get knocked out immediately.

What like facilities, arena, or locker room?

Except new locker rooms which he had to raise the funds for personally. A new arena. Got kicked out of the best basketball conference ever created. Low recruiting budget. No plane for recruiting. Put football ahead of his program. Oh yeah the Cincinnati job is basically the same as Kentucky. Maybe Cal will consider a move up 71 to lead the cats. Dont let facts get in the way of your opinion though.

He makes the tournament every year and has proven that he can produce All-Conference players. Those coaches don't get fired. That's the way it is.

I would look at Brad Underwood (Stephen F Austin's coach). The speed, discipline, defense, and composure they played with against WVU was tremendously impressive.

Who coached the #3 seeded team they beat ?

Mick hasn't forced the university's hand to accelerate the timeline on getting any of the things you listed above. The conference issue is what it is and football generates the money. You want a new arena for Mick and upgraded facilities when he can't even get fans to attend the one we're in now.

You might want to check your "facts" and understand that your OPINIONS are wrong.

Or people just didn't donate enough by the deadline the university set for the basketball arena. They pushed it back and will meet their deadlines now. I doubt they wanted Mick walking the streets with a hat asking for money for a new arena.

Incredible stupidity. Ignore feature for you buddy.

Ben Howland had 3-4 final fours and got fired.

Howland has some issues with players during his final years at UCLA. 11 players left the program from 2008-2012. UCLA was in a downward spiral and Howland was reported to look away from player issues, even players bullying other players. Try using a thing called Google, might make you look less foolish.
