The vocal minority??? Yeah, I forgot we're playing in front of sold out arenas every night. Seems to me like when 80% of our home games are played to a less than 50% full arena you get your majority opinion right there. Then again, I guess it's pretty easy for a lot of you to have opinions when none of your hard earned money actually goes to support the university.

Yes, the vocal minority.

Yes, the vocal minority.

I respectfully disagree. Having attended nearly 100% of our home games for the last decade my conversations and experiences have lead me to have a different outlook on our fanbase that yours. Mick definitely has the support of the administration, that's not debatable.

There are plenty of young up and comers that would jump at the Cincinnati job. But that's neither here nor there. I'm for keeping Coach Cronin at Cincinnati.

I'm not making anything up. Read his contract. Prior to 3/1/16 the buy out was much more. As for other jobs do your own research. He was being looked at heavily by NC St.
This story was put out by a paper in Las Vegas. Who is making **** up now. Did his agent tell you this? You are right Mick isn't going anywhere and will probably get a raise and a extension and I couldn't be happier.

BS, you surely are making stuff up. The fact that he has a 3 million buyout doesn't mean that UNLV has offered him anything or even is seriously thinking about it.

And being looked at heavily by NC St is yet again another statement that you act is factual that you simply have no evidence of. Of course you said there were multiple offers, but you seem to be back tracking on that.

Sure, I don't know that Mick's agent floated it out there, that is simply my opinion and it should be pretty obvious that I'm not stating that as if it's a fact.

I personally don't want Mick gone, but he hasn't done anything to earn a raise. Extension is different because you need at least 4 years to recruit. But this season was mediocre. Mick even stated this was his best team yet they finished 5th in a mediocre conference and couldn't get past the 1st round of the conference or NCAA tournament.

He did a great job of rebuilding the program. Ever since he has been average.

As for others that worry about who could they replace him, there is always someone. Sometimes it doesn't work out, other times it does but there are always good coaches out there. Again, I'd prefer to keep Mick, but worrying about who they could hire is not a reason to keep him, nor should it ever be.

If you read this article, TCU is Jamie Dixon's alma mater.

Yea i read it, think for a second.

Unlv belives it has no shot with jd, fly cronin in on monday after unlv prez was at the game on fri. Put the full court press on him. Have the hire in place by the weekend.

Sounds like something a school would do if they want him, right?

I keep seeing people say this. This is what makes me nervous. Up and comer= not proven at the highest level. There simply arent many Bob Huggins of the world out there. We got extremely lucky with that hire. Young up and comers also include John Groce of Illinois and Josh Pastner. I just dont want our program to take a step back. Momentum is on our side. 6 straight tourney runs. New arena supposedly on the way. Might get into the big 12. Recruiting appears to be getting better (Clark, Evans, Cumberland in back to back to back classes). I want to build on the good things. I think Mick can do better. I think he should be expected to do better. He has legitimate reasons as to why his program is stuck in neutral. If the arena and new league come to fruition those excuses are no longer valid. If the results dont change he has to go. But I just dont think now is time to take our chips off the table. I think Mick sees the same thing and will not go anywhere.

Plus, a lot of us vocal minority guys are actually sitting in those seats making Mick look better than he is. We're fans. We don't let some high paid university employee drive us away from this program. So we fill his seats and make it look like we are supporting him.

Xavier changes coaches a lot and never misses a beat.

5 decades here.

Never misses a beat? Prior to last year Chris Mack missed the round of 64 two consecutive years in the A-10 (Went to the NIT) then the new BEAST(Lost in the play in game). Got into a better league with a state of the art arena and things got headed in the right direction really fast in Norwood.

Mack had 2 sweet 16s in his 1st three years before he missed the tourney one year. If anyone wants to say that Mick has outperformed Mack because he's not one of the eight programs that have made the tourney 6 straight times, then that is a joke. There are many programs who are not in the eight with Mick that have blown his results away.

@davecokin
This Mick Cronin to UNLV buzz seems really far-fetched to me. Signed a 7-year extension at $2.2 million two years ago.

^This is one of my favorite Vegas guys. He's a radio host and guest on pregame.com.

Yeah having to play Lehigh and St. Bonaventure was really an upset to get to the sweet 16. The NCAA tournament sometimes is just as much about luck when it comes to matchups and advancing. I guess my question to you L-T would be this: If Mick Cronin had all the things Chris Mack has do you think Cincinnati would be considerably better than they are right now? That means the administration is 100% behind the program before anything else. In a good league. Have a state of the art arena. A plane to recruit. And first class training facilities. Or do you think Mick simply is a "mid major" coach and those things would not matter?
