Mick a Candidate for UNLV?

My sources have now informed me that Sammy's homework is in fact to prepare for an upcoming quiz on State capitals. Earlier reports of math problems were incorrect.

My "sources" have informed me that Sammy has a homework assignment due tomorrow, I'm told it's mostly basic math problems and Mick needs to return home to help her with them.

:D

Im sorry but after that comment and about the fans knowing nothing about basketball you could tell something was up with mick.

This is my favorite thread ever. 153 pages and we're no closer to knowing anything than we were when it started. What an entertaining last few days!

It's funny because I started this thread with a trollish intent because I thought nothing would come of it. Instead it gave us the greatest thread ever...

This was the greatest thread ever. I really need to get you out more. When you come to town I'm taking you to a game.

@BernieFratto
Just heard over the watercooler... Pitt is dipping their toe in the water for Mick Cronin as well. Is it true? I think it could be #UNLVmbb

Screw Mick at this point. This University has given him plenty of money and are working out the new stadium deal. I'm sick of Cronin squeezing the school for more money every year and getting the same results.

$2.2mil per year and the best result is one sweet 16! I hope Bohn tells him tough shit and if he wants more then give us more.

of you read the article above you'll will see this isn't about him getting more money.it is about facility upgrades and attaching a time to them

Let's say Mick comes back, I'm sure this is a fantastic way to help recruiting. Publicly dragging your alma mater through a week of this nonsense. The 5 stars will be knocking at our door begging to commit.

The good news NTS is that no one outside of UC or UNLV is even aware this is happening. No one knows who Mick is, still no mention of his name anywhere on ESPN's website.

all easily explained away by pointing to the budget increases/facility upgrades that it garnered and saying that he was never going to leave but was just leveraging to get things for his program and players.

it's not a hard sell.

Until we get in a better league and upgrade our facilities 5 stars won't be knocking down our doors. But just to play devils advocate if I'm a player and I see a coach putting it all on the line to improve the program it may inspire me to want to play for such a coach. Just another thought.

u make it sound so simple like there are just coaches all over that will work as good with this program as mick like they are just floating around at every mid major school with 20 plus wins last couple years. You guys seem to not even take into the equation that the grass most likely is not greener on the other side

No, I make it seem like it was. Getting into the tournament is awesome, but far less awesome when you get seeded 8+.

Mick did some good things, but it seems like he plateaued. I already said I wish he had the plane for recruiting and a few more upgrades so there would be no excuses and we would already know of Mick was capable of success longterm or if he maxed out. I'm just not going to get hung up on having to replace him if he leaves. We can get another coach That can do better. There is certainly risk as there are no guarantees, but to say if that Mick leaving is an automatic setback is wrong.

they know that Madman81. Unfortunitely it doesn't support what they are trying to sell. Just like leaving out the part of the story that said the UNLV players would leave school if Cronin got the job. When in reality it was about Stacey Augmon not getting the job.

Agree but for me I'd rather have the upgrades and see if he can finish what he started. If not replace him
