Interesting article here, most unlv players really want their assistant coach to be hired as head, he believes many will leave if cronin or anyone else hired. Mick better think this thru or he will be rebuilding all over again

I think a rebuild is exactly what Mick would want. Four to five years of no expectations followed by 2 to 3 more years of low expectations. Mick thrives when expectations are low, it's when they are high that he struggles.

this was brought up earlier when posters were implying that if Mick was hired they would all leave. They all conviently left out the part about the players wanting Stacey Augmon as the reason. Not necessarily that they were hiring Mick. Go figure

lots of good High school talent in Vegas. They also recruit well to southern California. They also have a good D league presence. And many high school summer tournaments. I think Mick could do well there. If he did the town would love him. I was out there often when Tark was there. He owned the town.

A huge draw back is rearing children. They really need to grow up quick lots of distractions. One of the highest rates of teenage pregnancy in country and when I was out there a few weeks ago it had one of the highest rates of syphillis in the country.

i see the AAC see as a better conference than the mountain west. So imo that would be a step back conference wise for cronin

yea I see your point but some in the industry think Its a good job.

Yes I agree no doubt it's a very good job. Aau tournaments constantly going thru Vegas would be very easy to recruit. Also Thomas and Mack center seems like a very nice facility, but I just don't see why cronin would leave her his alma matter to go there (sure a little bit more money but 2.2 mil is very very good) unless him and bohn are not seeing eye to eye. Maybe he's pissed about renovations getting pushed back? Maybes he's pissed about football being prioritized? Maybe he's upset some fans aren't satisfied? Not sure what the deal is but in my eyes if mick was leaving the deal would have been done this afternoon

Something big has had to of happened recently. It's been known for months and months the renovations got pushed back another year. Gotta be between Cronin and Bohn.

Na, I think Mick thinks highly of himself and can't take the fans not appreciating what he perceives as success. Instead of doing better he is trying to move on.
