That's amazing. I know he's an alum and all but still. Guess goes to show if you double someone's salary it's hard to turn down..

Mick Cronin's agent working with #Cincinnati for release to take #UNLV job. Both parties looking to cut ties without involving buyout money.

i know there are people who dont and never will give cronin the credit he deserves but the reality is mick is the right guy to lead this program forward. people forget hes working with less then everyone else that is a tournament team every year. even x has better facilities. yes his style makes for painful losses as they are slug fests but trust me hell never have a team where every little thing went against them again.

I for one am pro cronin and there is no question the program is still getting stronger on a yearly basis. when we left big east and came aac it was expected that recruiting would suffer a bit and it has but he was still able to pull clark and evans.

I think people need take a step back quit thinking about what could have been with huggins and realize just what cronin has been able to do cause this program was dead when he got here make no mistake about it. There is no doubt cronin will have his success in the tournament at cinci and with the new arena and such in the near future and hopefully a big 12 invite things will keep getting better.

The doing more with less argument is b.s. Abd if his program was getting stronger year over year why don't the results reflect that?

they do reflect it unless your strictly looking at win loss or tournament results. if you can look past that and see the big picture its obvious the program continues to improve year in year out. one year where everything that could of went wrong did doesnt change that. Plus how does it not hold weight? Its the reality cincinnati dont have the facilities others have and if you dont think that affects recruiting big time then you are lying to yourself. Not only that but the move to the aac from big east was obviously going to affect us in recruiting but mick has weathered the storm and found gems in evans and clark and as you can see with who we have coming in next year its now back to normal. If he is able to recruit what hes been able to with some the facilities we have compared to who hes battling with then just imagine the players he will bring in once we get the new arena and possibly a big 12 invite. I just cant understand the hate for cronin besides that people are completely unrealistic about things. You dont make it to the tournament 6 strait years anymore without a great coach no matter who you are even ky missed it. Ya hes had some tough luck in tournament but so have a lot of great coaches thats just the nature of march madness.

I mean just look and memphis and uconn as an example both almost missed the tournament for 2 strait years uconn got lucky as lucky can get to even get in and they have top notch facilities.

I was literally just about to highlight those exact 2 things you mentioned. Both sides on Cronin are so programmed with the party lines, they don't even take the time to think if what they're saying is true or not (I'm sure I've been guilty of this as well).

Give me some evidence of this please? Has attendance improved each year? No. Have our seeds in the NCAA's improved each year? No. How about winning a GAME in our conference tournament? No.

Mick's paid 2.2 million dollars. Why are we acting like he's getting peanuts?

Lol. I'm sorry, but this is very funny to me. How about something tangible? I think the program is very healthy under Cronin, and I'd prefer he stay, but c'mon.

27 wins to 23 wins to 22 wins. 16 conference wins to 13 wins to 12 wins. Things sure are getting better. LMAO

I know right. Like the program is much stronger unless you look at that stat that most programs judge success by...w/l. ha!

I understand both sides of the argument but unless I haven't read every post thoroughly enough I still haven't seen where anyone has come up with better candidates for this program. If you say Larry Davis you should be banned from talking basketball. This is not a top destination for coaches nor is it a place for up and comers to make themselves a brighter star (which isn't what I would want anyway). So with that being said if Mick were to be fired or leave the program who are we replacing him with?
