The point wasn't to say he recruited all of those players... I dont know if Mick even recruited Steve Logan.

The point is that if Mick wasn't so good at his job why did Huggins hire him and keep him for a while and why did Rick want him bad enough to go after him and offer him the job?

Here are the facts my friend:

According to ESPNU TOP 100
Cashmere Wright 76th Overall - 11th PG not 15th according to Scout.com
Yancy Gates 30th Overall - 4 star recruit according to Scout.com
Lance Stevenson 12th Overall - He was born ready according to freinds

You can break it down by position all you want but the fact is they are supposedly top players in the country. Thats why Mick got them.

I'd consider them one of the top players in the country. Most teams win and dream of having that kind of talent. Not to mention DV with All Big East Honors.

Cash had a torn ACL. Sat the bench all last season next to Mick and didnt learn a thing. Even he himself said we aren't freshman anymore, It is time to step up.

Any thoughts on UK starting 3 freshman?? they are soo young and havent had time to gel, yet top 5 team in the country.

You proved my argument for me! These are not top players! Lance is the only "big" get. These players are a dime a dozen in our league! Nova has 5 McDonald All-Americans! That is talent!

Syracuse is the one team (this year) that has completely overachieved with the talent on that roster. While still very solid, 'Cuse has received HUGE contributions from way under the radar players (Rautins and Wes Johnson)

Also, I don't like to use the highest ranking that is found on the internet. I compare rankings across 4-5 sites.

Mick very much has the X's and O's. If you are a college head coach you know the X's and O's. College Basketball is 10% coaching and 90% talent. What UC lacks is the top talent necessary to win big. It takes time to get the top talent interested, coaches are recruiting 9th graders. In a few more years Mick will have UC back on top.

I actually agree with ralph!? Big 10 five stars have no bearing on UC. If we were in the Big 10 then we would have at least 4 more wins than we do right now. We are in the Big East, and every team besides some bottom feeders have multiple 5 star players. We are lacking in the quality high end 4 star players, thats where we lack!

Or does it mean that 5 stars/and rankings in general aren't all the are cracked up to be. Look at the Big10, to think they don't have talent is crazy. The Big Ten is solid in basketball and always will be, just because they don't get the 5 stars doesn't mean much.

Lance was overrated? Ralphy I know your old and partially senial, but cmon. He was the leading scorer in the stat of New York and a future NBA player.

And Yancy was a 5 star guy. Then he dropped to a 4 star guy. Then he went back up to 5 star.
