Just keeping things in perspective, Jeff.

As for the coach, when I first joined this site, and helped it climb to millions of viewers! :D I did not like the way Mick was doing things. He has since changed my mind. Of course there will always be things myself or others dont like about him, but thats not how my brain functions. You can always improve
Sure hope you and mick can work things out. I'm sure your approval is what he lives for champ.

Couldn't you have said, "It's good to see Mick land a top tier guy. Let's hope he pans out."? Yes, I understand things can change up to the moment the LOI is signed, though I believe it's a solid verbal, but today let's celebrate today.

Im just bringing us back to Earth. I recall Lance signing and it was going to solve all problems. By the time he left, Mick blamed him for the offensive struggles.

Of course anytime you sign a big time recruit its exciting.

Just sayin Jeff

I think you say some good things R2G, just saying when you make a wish and it's answered you should be the first guy to say well done. I do understand what you were getting at.

Typical R2G, yells for higher ranked recruits and UC lands a 5 star consensus top 25 guy and he spins it negative. Your bias against this coach always creeps out in some way.

To me the exciting thing is that Mick brings in tough minded players who will do the dirty work. This kid's skill set, off the charts athleticism, and the toughness he'll acquire is going to make for a special player.

Obviously an amazing get by Cronin & Co. but what is even more impressive to me is we got Maine with the uncertainty of the BE. That says a ton! I hope Jermaine gets to have many sit downs with the Big O like he wants.

Lance Stevenson was the tip of the iceburg....we thought

Forget Lance Stephenson. He was nothing but trouble - cocky and undisciplined from the get go. He did as much for the Cats as he's done for the Pacers = 0 ! Mick doesn't need any one and dones. Maybe Jermaine will stay and play. For sure, he needs to bulk up some if he's going to bang the boards.

Dude, he is starting in the NBA! And if he was so much trouble here why is Mick still real close with him? Mick loves Lance and goes to see him play several times each year.

This is what should be playing on Mick's ipod all day today. Not too mention all UC fans, because this is when people outside UC fanbase start to hate on our program because we are back!!!!

Lance is now starting for the Pacers and averaging 8 pts, 4 rebs, and 3 assists. Unfortunately he was the scapegoat at UC but he made the team much better and they'd been way better had he stuck around.

As for this thread, can't you all just be happy UC/Mick got a great recruit? Enjoy the moment.

If Lances one year here means he will help us atract NYC kids to UC he was well worth having hear. Seems we have a nice little pipe line going on.

Did he sign?

April 17, 2013 is signing day. NCAA rules prohibit Mick or any assistant coach from talking about Jermaine until he signs the LOI. Therefore, it will be a waste of time to call Mick's show tonight to ask Mick about Jermaine. Dan Hoard can talk about Jermaine if you want to ask Dan.

I hope UC fans do not do the same to Jermaine as they did to Lance with the unreasonably high expectations. Jermaine is far from a finished product, he is not an Anthony Davis or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, he is not an NBA lottery pick after one year at UC, like Davis and Kidd-Gilchrist were at UK. Jermaine is not the second coming of Oscar Robertson.

It almost pains me to say this, but I agree with you.
