Jason, saying "putting off" or "putting on hold" is basically the same, just a matter of semantics. Are you an English teacher? (sic) "putting off until tomorrow" "putting on hold until tomorrow".

Putting off can also mean not doing something. Maybe you should clarify. I don't think my reading into your post was such a stretch.

You honor me, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Why is Rick Pitino lobbying the Big East if Louisville is going to the Big 12?

"Meanwhile, Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino told ESPN.com's Andy Katz that he is actively lobbying the Big East and its member schools to add Memphis and Temple, regardless of whether the Big East adds Central Florida, Houston or SMU.

Pitino said Wednesday that he has expressed his opinion to Big East commissioner John Marinatto and wants the conference to seriously consider raising its basketball profile during what has been a turbulent time of conference realignment."

I guess my best response to this is using another quote of yours.

""basketball coaches have a problem dealing with the reality that football is in control of college sports."

So, as you have said in the past, Basketball coaches have no say at all in this. Its all about football, what Pitino does or says doesn't affect the school one bit. Or, do you just pick and choose when to use the quote above for when it helps your argument? Ralph, you are making this way to easy for me. I am currently debating you by using your own arguments. You are debating yourself here.

Did you read my post? I stated if Pitino told Louisville he would resign if Louisville left the Big East it would influence UofL's decision tremendously.

Ha, very well put! Ralph debating his own quotes is unreal. This guy will never quit, never say enough is enough. Ralph, your arguments are unintelligent, rarely consistent, and mainly loaded with your opinions that you try to pass off as facts. I have to say that in some strange way I do admire your dedication to the spin. Maybe you should call Rob Portman and see if he'll hire you for his next campaign.

What part of President Williams statement "UC is 100% committed to the Big East" do those who think UC has interest in joining the Big 12 not understand?

“We feel that the Big East is the best spot for us right now and we’re paying close attention to what’s happening round the country,” Williams said.

In other words, we are a proud member of the BE until a better offer comes along.

UC making great progress in Big East Expansion. Boise and Bringham Young discussing joining Big East as football only members.

Well if you believe the latest round of rumors, Twitter "reports," etc. WVU and UL are both likely heading to the Big 12 as their 10th and 11th teams. The league is looking to add a 12th team and it could be either BYU or UC.

Again, this nonsense will probably be debunked and changed 17 times by tomorrow morning but that is what is out there now.

I'm going back to watch the Cardinals tank the World Series.....at least that is enjoyable watching.

Appears to be official now, WVU to the Big 12. Here is a statement from the Big East Commissioner:

“This move by West Virginia does not come as a surprise. League officials, members of our conference and the candidate schools to whom we have been talking were aware of this possibility. We have taken West Virginia’s possible departure into account as we have moved forward with our own realignment plans. West Virginia is fully aware that the Big East Conference is committed to enforcing the 27-month notification period for members who choose to leave the conference. We are confident that in the coming weeks we will complete our own realignment program, adding a number of high-quality members to remain among the top conferences in both football and basketball.”
