Morman blows. I wish he didn't get as much pt as he did last night. No where near ready to play at this level but yet he wants to act like he is.

Cronin keeps saying that defense and effort are controllable. You work on the things you can control. The only reason he can't control offense is that he only recruits offensively inept players. 55 points in 50 minutes. Sad.

Low scoring is happening all over college basketball.

Tough loss on the road. Youth and inexperience got to us. Team played tough and fought and battled. It's a game we should've won and at the end of the day free throws cost us. But we didn't, have to move on. Frustrating game to watch, but this board goes way overboard. I'm as mad as anybody in the moment but as soon as the buzzer sounded I realized the world hadn't ended. We have plenty of basketball ahead and this young team will improve. We need to win at least one of the next two, beat x and take no bad losses in the weak conference.

Last night wasn't just a normal loss. We looked like we couldn't have beat hardly any D-1 teams. That's a pretty low floor. Also, normally I agree with Mick about "sometimes you don't make shots" but this was beyond that. Sanders airballed a 3 and almost airballed a free throw, KJ shot an airball, Morman had 2 that hit nothing but the backboard, Ellis had one hit nothing but the backboard...that's not even close. These shots weren't just rimming out. Clark also missed at least 2 or 3 right by the rim while trying to finish with his left hand, but that is at least more forgivable. At the end of the day though, is there 1 guy besides Caupain that you think would go to the line and make both FT? How sad is that? I'm not taking away a moral victory of "well at least we battled" bc we did things that a 5th grade team would never do. Fouling up 2, fouling up 3, throwing a full court pass out of bounds with 4 seconds left in a tie game, Morman with multiple fouls in the backcourt? Just plain bad basketball. Period. And none of that should ever happen to a college team, let alone all of it in 1 game. I'm actually more discouraged today thinking back at all the horrible plays than I was last night.

Best not to dwell on it. Everything you said is stuff they can learn from and improve upon. When the ball goes up at nine on Wednesday nothing that happened last night matters. It was a tough loss, they made mistakes, the offense was horrific. But again, the ball tips at nine on wednesday. Do we concede the rest of the season right now because guys threw up ugly bricks all night? Should muck just run out caupain, Clark and Ellis and play three on five because all the other players we have deemed too bad to put on the floor?

I get it that we looked bad and I don't look at last night as a moral victory, what I did see was we lost by one in double ot on the road in the non-conference. We have 22 more games to play and then postseason, should we try to take whatever positives we can and build on them or should we scrap the season because we lost?

Don't you think everyone else will improve also? Free throws "contributed" to the loss. But, free throws fall a distant second to stupidity as the reason we lost this game. Incredibly stupid fouls (which is really the only way that team had a chance to score), was the reason we lost.

Caupain allowed a player a way to get around him on the sideline, when he should have pinned him against it, ultimately leading to one of the incredibly stupid fouls. He also left his man wide open in the corner to run out near the high post to try to intercept a pass, leading to a wide open three that really hurt us.

People above who are saying Morman blows, should look at Johnson's horrendous performance before they look at Morman. Johnson did exactly one good thing in that game. He made one shot and then thought he was Kobe Bryant and proceeded to make about 4 bonehead plays down the stretch to kill us. One basket and zero assists from your 2-guard. Most of his shots weren't even close. I've seen far more positives out of Morman this year than Johnson. Based on what we were hearing all year, Johnson is by far the biggest disappointment of this season.

The one good thing to take away from the game is that the trajectory of the defense is off the charts. But, that's really not surprising I guess. As good as the defense was, I'm not sure why Mick backed off the press in OT and went to zone. Hopefully, the defense is becoming legit and it wasn't just the fact that Nebraska is horrible.

The big question at this point is do we make it to 40 against SDSU?

As much as everyone on here has dissed Gelawn Guyn, I honestly feel his absence is hurting this team a lot, and especially in a game like last night. Experience would have been invaluable in a game like that.

Do you guys remember the play at the end of regulation I believe that resulted in a dunk by Clark. That was out of a timeout and it was a really nice executed play. Why can't we see more of that out of our offense? I would love to see more set plays that are designed with a purpose.

I tried to tell everyone here that KJ is not any good and no one listened he is a turnover and foul machine and is not ready for UC basketball, but hey what do I know?

By the way where is basketball.com? That's what I thought when your boy can't back it up you go hide and don't login?

4 more chances for good non-conference wins. If we can split them, we will control our own tournament destiny based on our conference play. If we only win 1, it's an uphill battle. If we don't win any of them, you can stick a fork in us unless we win the conference tourney. Losing that Nebraska game hurts a lot more than it normally would based on how weak the AAC looks so far.
