i was sitting back thinking ya i want to be in the acc as much as anybody but lets look at the bright side of new league. we got cincinnati, uconn, usf who is a year removed from the ncaa tourney and has top 25 recruiting class. Memphis who has the 2nd ranked class in nation right behind ky who will be top 25 every year maybe better and will be a nice rival to revisit speaks for themselves. we got temple who will be another annual top 25 team. we got teams on the rise such as east carolina who stands at 19-12 overall tulane at 20-14, houston at 20-12 who i believe is on the fast lane to legit program. you got ucf 20-11 whos another team on the rise. you got smu 15-17 whos bound get good class and turn it around eventually with larry brown at the helm. tulsa 17-16 but finished above better teams in league play.another positive is well get more national airtime with the new league then old league. not to mention well be cream of crop in football and should be able keep it up the winning. all im trying to say is worse come worse it wont be as bad as we act and if its only for 3 or 4 years ill be happy plus we have louisville another year. what are some your guys positive thoughts on the new conference if any?

I like the points mentioned above and i actually think it will help recruiting. As big of a selling point as playing in the old big east was to recruits we were constantly struggling to change our perception to recruits as a legit top bball school... Un the new conference there is no reason to think we wont be contending for a league championship every year raising our visability and upgrading our perception to recruits. Weaker comp yes, but hopefully more winning.

Disagree completely. There's nothing positive about this new league and there's no way it will improve recruiting. For the 1st year, it won't be that bad. After Louisville leaves, we need to follow them out the door as quick as possible.

The effect on recruiting will depend on Cronin. If he works hard, as I am sure he will, he should still be able to bring in some good players. But the league will no longer be a selling point. He will have to find different "bullets" to use in his methods so I agree with L.T. This league will not help with recruiting and I suspect we will join the Big 12 shortly.

I am also hoping we join the big 12 to expand the eastern region and give WVU a common opponent to cut down on traveling

If Tommy can build a strong football program in a short time, I see it happening. But I think the ACC is out of the question. Rumors were going around that this was where we were heading, but it now sounds as if they are spooked by the lack of interest in our football program locally.

Its working for memphis

I think the new conference will be a plus for us. It will bring the fun back in to the program, instead of the constant heartbreaks year after year.

i like the glass half full concept here. but in reality, it just sucks. sucks for the school, the athletes, the fans, it just sucks.

I think we are more of a Big 12 school but the bottom line is this. If we are good, we will be dancing in March. It does not matter what conference we are in. We will just see less talented teams here more often. But it is a much nicer walk back to the car when we beat Tulane by 10 than a loss by 15 to Georgetown.

how are we more of a big 12 school its out west for one and acc acg budget is 65 mil tops big 12 is like 85 90 we right now are at 42 million

i'm sure a lot of people feel this way. count me as one who's stomach turns with the thought of even playing tulane again.

tulane would prob draw about 5,000 for a ooc match. i really don't see that number going up because of a conference game. same with smu, ucf, and the rest.
