New Mexico

UC's pressure defense caused XU players to cramp. You cannot simulate UC's defense in practice. After UC made their run to start the second half, I knew the game was over. You could tell the XU guards were wearing down already and they don't have any big guys that scare you.

As for New Mexico, I think it will be close early but then UC will pull away as the game goes on. New Mexico is a little deeper than XU but I don't expect this to be closer than 10 at the end of the day.

I think you are pretty close here and I expect the same. As a general philosophy I am thinking UC should let the 3's fly at home where we shoot all the time in practice.

When we go on the road I think we should mostly abandon the three ball for driving to the bucket. When I was playing I can remember being able to knock down threes all day in my gym...but when you go to a different gym the background is different and throws off your 3D perception a bit.

It could be that behind the backboard the stands are either closer or further away giving a different perception to the outside shot. Close range shots would not be affected. Away...go to the hole...Home...don't be afraid to let it fly.

i think this is the biggest game of the year so far. we start the big east gauntlet after this and we start with a really tough game at newly ranked pitt on new years eve. if we limp into the Peterson events center it will make it that much tougher to win that game. however, if we beat new mexico handily, I think we will go into big east play with some confidence.

This will be a close game. New Mexico will be hyped up to redeem themselves and they have a solid scoring lineup. I think we win but will be close. Regardless, this will be a great test before conference play.

Perfect game preconference. Win or lose it should be a good barometer for them. That said I think they win by 8.

Just a gut feeling. But the bad first halves the last 2 games will be vanquished by a great 2-halves game against New Mexico. I think the real UC team shows up in primetime to make a statement.

I look for a 15+ point win at home. Just a gut feeling I have about this one.

After all the arguments and name calling insults from you earlier, you end up agreeing with me

Hilarious.

You predict a blowout or decimation EVERY GAME. I don't. And my prediction of a 15+ point win, isn't necessarily a blowout. I just think the game will be in hand for most of the night with a potential for a shocking blowout.

I think New Mexico is a very good team. They will make the NCAA Tournament.

My gut feeling is that we haven't seen UC clicking on all cylinders. And I know it's going to happen very soon. I think it happens against New Mexico.

No disrespect toward New Mexico. Again, I just think it's going to be one of those games where UC puts it all together for 40 minutes.

Has anyone else noticed the refs for this game are from New Mexico's conference? I was reading this will help NM because they are an excellent ft shooting team and make a living there. Should be interesting to see how this plays out. Also, Bob Knight will be in the house doing commentary!

Was telling a friend yesterday that I believe the same thing. I have a feeling UC is going to play very well tonight for some reason but expect a good effort from NM as well.

I said at the beginning there's not one team ooc that scares me and its true. Combine that with the fact uc is a national championship contender and that's why uc is heavily favored by me in every game. Not many teams can even hang with uc and only a couple in the ooc schedule are good enough to lose within single digits to us

I hope they're not going to call this like the vegas tournament. Don't know if I could handle watching that again.

UC's depth really offsets alot of worry about tightly called games though. If it goes both ways, it favors UC.

If this were last season or the season before, I have no doubt that you would be saying the exact same things. You're a unrealistic homer.

I am not a homer at all. I know what this team is capable an they are capable of a dominant ooc undefeated season. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

It would be funny if Bob Knight went off on the refs during the game since they are from MWC. Hopefully they don't call lots of touch fouls. If we had BE refs, I would really like our chances.
