UC's pressure defense caused XU players to cramp. You cannot simulate UC's defense in practice. After UC made their run to start the second half, I knew the game was over. You could tell the XU guards were wearing down already and they don't have any big guys that scare you.
As for New Mexico, I think it will be close early but then UC will pull away as the game goes on. New Mexico is a little deeper than XU but I don't expect this to be closer than 10 at the end of the day.
I think you are pretty close here and I expect the same. As a general philosophy I am thinking UC should let the 3's fly at home where we shoot all the time in practice.
When we go on the road I think we should mostly abandon the three ball for driving to the bucket. When I was playing I can remember being able to knock down threes all day in my gym...but when you go to a different gym the background is different and throws off your 3D perception a bit.
It could be that behind the backboard the stands are either closer or further away giving a different perception to the outside shot. Close range shots would not be affected. Away...go to the hole...Home...don't be afraid to let it fly.
