Hahah cmon now

They missed a lot in the paint but Im pretty sure about all of them were contested. We have yet to have a wide open lay up. Not one. Everything is contested. Did we even get a dunk?

Out coached? Nah. Frustrating as hell to watch? Yes. Defense was still good and we were in it all the way to the end, just need to find a rhythm offensively.

no dunks i can recall. whice is amazing since some of the rebounds were grab in perfect postion to go up strong. jj is not a gifted player around the rim. tr is better but not amazing either. just hope they can improve and pray like hell that lawrence comes in because we need a post player who can score and defend.

make you wonder how good this team would be with chane.

A couple thoughts, after being at the game. I haven't seen that many missed layups since Adam H was on the team. The reason they lost tonight is simple, they weren't the toughest team on the court, it's cliche, but they got out toughed. I agree, I'm not a fan of the offense it doesn't seem to have a flow, but that's not why they lost tonight. Cash being out the final 10 minutes of the first half didn't help either. You only shoot 4 FT's on your home court, you're not being tough enough. It's really that simple.

I agree with your toughness comment. But the past 7 years it has been a struggle for this team to put the ball in the hoop. Long scoring droughts, no screening, little passing, too much dribbling, too much dribbling outside the 3 point line, etc

Ready, I don't disagree, but that's not why they lost tonight.

Id say the lack of toughness and the inefficiency of an offense to put these guys in a position to be effective is the reason. They had some missed shots, but they were highly contested. Even the put backs and drives. It shouldnt be that hard everytime down the court

A huge difference in this game was fouls. With 30 seconds left, UC had 7 to NM 3. NM was smart and took some time off then fouled. It killed the final 17 seconds. Not to mention NM made some really tough shots in the 2nd half. With all that being said, our offense lost the game for us, period. If you told me we held NM to under 60 points and lost I would say you're crazy. This game isn't going to break us but damn it hurts. I hope this team figures out how to score. I thought this was the year we weren't going to worry about putting the points on the board. Its starting to look like every other year which is annoying because we should be able to score. We continue to not be able to finish around the basket. But, my hat off to NM, they played their last defensive stand extremely well and the lack of fouls killed us.

The lack of a half court offensive is very concerning. In addition the inability to either drawup a out of bounds play or execute one needs to change. I think for this team to continue to get better they must develope a productive half court offense (not this pass around 3 point line dribble then throw up a three). Modj,David, Jackson, and rubles need to be somewhat of a offensive threat and hit the easy put back shots. I have complete faith in Mick that these things will change and we will continue to improve but to just think if we had a true offensive post player how good this team would be. I really hope that mick can get jermaine lawerence and Jamaree Strickland is a great under the radar recruit

one positive i took away last night was Shaq Thomas is getting better with every game...his length and quickness are really going to help this team...hope he tontinues on this trend

Go Bearcats!

Absolutely not. They did not execute micks gameplan.

LOL. Mick got taken to the woodshed by Alford.

The more talented team lost. The less talented team outplayed the more talented team. The more talented team didn't seem to have a game plan.

I liked watch he did in the game as well! For a freshman his defense is outstanding with his length he is real tough. He did a good job going to the hoop but he just can not finish yet. He does a good job creating but when he shoots it, it looks like he just tosses it up there and 9/10 doesn't have much of a chance to go in. In time and more playing opportunities he will get better. He just looks super rushed when shooting.

When you do nothing but hoist 3's the entire game, you don't get to complain about a lack of fouls called on the other team. New Mexico did a great job of limiting our dribble-drive action, but somehow you've got to take the ball to the rim once in a while. It was like once they started stopping our primary offensive set, we didn't have any backup plan to create shots.

New Mexico is a good team though. It isn't as easy as they made it look to contain SK and Cash off the dribble.

All you people complaining about the offense and Cronin can't coach offense need to zip it and open your minds and look at the real problem. Its so easy to sit here and say, oh he is terrible and has no offense. The only number you need to know is 9/38 from 2 pt shots. Its not the coaches fault this team can't finish and play extremely soft. They need to work on getting foul BC its not that hard. Almost every time we go to the hoop we avoid contact and just throw the ball up. We shot a good % from 3's and that wasn't the problem. I think its hilarious how when we win no says anything but the second we lose its the typical, Cronin has no offense blah blah blah. Maybe its Cronin and the other coaches fault for not teaching their kids to go to the hoop and get fouled but that's about it. It doesn't matter if we had stellar set plays, if we can't finish around the rim it doesn't matter. We will still get the same results, missed short shots.

The reason we lost was BC we shot 9/38 from inside the arc. We are very soft around the rim thus why NM had only 3 fouls with 14 seconds left. That ruined our chances of getting a good shot off and credit to NM, they played the last defensive stand brilliantly.

Yes indeed, Shaq played his best game of the season yesterday. Hopefully, even more better is to come.

The more talented team shot 23.6% from inside the three point line 9-38. Coaching is not to blame for that. Many of those misses were from inside 3 feet of the basket.
