If this team is going to be any good Shaq needs to consistently put up 12-15 points and 5 boards. He can no longer look great for 4 minutes and then vanish.

The staff is very high on KJ and I am as well. He's the most well rounded scoring option on the roster...
thanks Chad. I hope Shaq can make it happen. I have been a tad disappointed in his game since he went 20 minutes of action against Louisville without grabbing a rebound. He also needs to follow the trainers program and put on some more weight.

I share your enthusiasm for KJ. Really think he is a kid who has physical and mental approach to develop into a first rate D-1 guard.

The guy I'm anxious to watch this summer for Cincinnati? Kevin Johnson. Deceptively good scorer. Needs to emerge 4 Bearcats at SG in 14-15.

14-15 AAC Preseason Power Rankings: 1. SMU 2. UConn 3. Cincinnati 4. Memphis 5. Temple 6. Tulsa 7. Houston 8. USF 9. UCF 10. Tulane 11. ECU

He also has DeBerry and Ellis as Top 10 transfers...Clark and Moore as Top 10 frosh...Shaq as Top 5 breakout player...no one on 1st team All-Conference

If Gary Clark can play defense he will see significant minutes because offensively he has the ability to score. Strickland is a guy I've been high on since he was signed, as you all know, and I will say the same thing about him as about Clark. When Deberry gets on campus it will be good for both he and Strickland to play against one another. I'd give Deberry the edge to start at the 5 strictly based on the fact he's played the past couple of years. The 4 spot is the one who interests me most. Micks history says he'll start experience but Clark could be an X factor there imo. Ellis and Moore give the Bearcats plenty of quality depth but Moore will need to really ramp up his conditioning.

I will not be at all surprised if Cobb, Johnson, and Shaq are your starting perimeter players. Sanders will likely play the 3-4 and Cobb I think will play both guard spots, moving over to the 2 when Caupain is at the 1. Mormon can play the 2-3 and Guyn will battle for minutes (refer back to Mick loves experience).

This is the deepest, longest, most athletic team in the Mick era with many interchangeable parts. I am not discounting the loss of SK but I fully believe this team has the potential to be the most offensively balanced and efficient team Mick has had. Defensively this team has the makings of being a nightmare.

I'm extremely excited about this team and I said this past winter I thought this team would be an elite 8 team by Caupains junior year and I still believe that. There will be growing pains and there are legit question marks, but this team is going to surprise people and get constantly improve as the season goes on. It is a team of gym rats and players who want to win and get better. The season can't start soon enough for me.

Has anyone been down to see any practices? well i guess first are the practices open to the public?

That's the best player development news I've heard this offseason. He doesn't need to be 225 to reach his potential -- 210 or 215 will be enough to get his shot off around the rim at the college level.
i'm not worried about him getting his shot off. He needs to body up on defense and hit the glass. It would also help if on his drives to the hole he seeks contact instead of avoid it. Great news on his weight. Finding a nutrition plan that works and having the discipline to stick with it to make it work is a huge commitment. Very good sign that Shaq is embracing the challenge. It took him awhile but it seems he has figured out you can't jump over everyone at D-1.
