Actually you are wrong: East of Pacific Ave and north of Cleary are part of Norwood. Just like Rookwood is part of Norwood. I don't have a dog in this fight but you sound like a jerk when you make blanket statements like the one you just did. They have a building here along with parking. Besides I'm not sure if not being Norwood is a better option in that area then being in Norwood.

Here's the thing I don't get. To earn money in a lawsuit you have to show that the wrongdoing cost you money. I guess his argument is his reputation is tarnished and that could cost him money down the road, but until actual money is lost you can't go by speculation. He's not in the job market yet, nor is he even allowed making money based on his amateur status. I can actually agree with his wanting of the expulsion dropped or at least clarified if there is a stipulation it is tied to rape, but the monetary end of it seems frivilous. My guess is nothing comes of this. Maybe Xavier, to avoid going through the publicity of any court proceedings, will clarify his expulsion to appease him. There is no way he gets a dime out of this.

Norwood is starting to make a comeback, now that they filled in the other part of Rookwood and the tenants of the old part now have to pay taxes, as their ten year amnesty is over. I think they realized after GM that you can't rely on one company to run the economy of a whole neighborhood, because if they start to struggle, so does the neighborhood. They now have food, some healthcare, a booming company in Paycor that just moved in, and some clothing stores. Just read in the paper the other day that they are $900,000 over budget and cuts will have to be made to help Norwood get by until they start to get some revenue from the new businesses. I still can't believe we didn't pass the street levy, the roads are terrible. I don't think you sound like a jerk, I agree with you. I went to Holy Trinity before it closed down, it is pretty hard to believe Norwood went from 3 Catholic Schools to none.

I met some of my old grade school classmates at the festival a couple of weeks ago. I remember when Holy Trinity was St.Peter and Paul. Had many a Pizza at Sorrentos. Knew Willie quite well. In the summers in the early 60's we used to work for the city of Norwood. Lots of nice parks and a great recreation department in those days. Hope the town makes a comeback. Have great memories growing up there.

I wasn't trying to be a smarta## but it pains me to see people insulting Xavier and lumping Norwood into the process. I guess I'm a little thin skinned from being called a hillbilly all those years. Lots of good people came from Norwood.

I'm not pretending to be an expert, but from what I understand the money awarded has to be an amount the plaintiff can reasonably claim to have a reason to be awarded. Usually that is a direct loss of money or a potential loss of future earnings. The monetary value has to make since. They don't just give people money for no reason. Even pain and suffering has to have a reason for the amount given and that is usually in the cases of death. This seems to me like a case of defamation of character. Thus any monetary value should be an amount that his character in good standing would make vs. the amount of money his character now in supposed bad standing would make. If he had lost endorsements because of this or lost a job then he would have a case for money, but being he's never made money nor promised to make money I just don't see how he could get money out of this. He went from on scholarship from one university to on scholarship to another university. So in the eyes of potential jurors or a judge it doesn't really seem he's lost his place in life. He didn't even have to sit out a year to claim he lost the ability to do his craft and he's at a higher profile university (he will graduate from a Big Ten school).

You're right, it will be a difficult claim. He will have to prove he was damaged in some way by Xavier's actions; however, that damage does not have to be monetarily.

have know idea what your referring to concerning What Willie did. Enjoy the food on occasion and know his family. Nice people. X is in Avondale and always has been. They may have a office or some small space in Norwood now but the main campus is now and always has been in Avondale.

Frankly I don't care now or ever have in the past where that school is located. So my apologies to Waite for thinking they are in Norwood. Haven't lived in Cincy for about 30 years, so my geography is a little rusty of the area anyway.

Absolutely no problem Dave. Grew up in Norwood and just hate for people to reference Norwood as the home of Xavier University.
