I'm not sure if this was already covered somewhere, but the ACC is going to try out a 30 second shot clock during exhibitions next season.

I'm curious to see how it goes. I know a lot are thinking how it affects the offense forcing tempo and maybe being detrimental to more methodical teams. Maybe it would be beneficial to a team like UC playing such intense defense for less amount of time.

I don't think this is the right move for college basketball. Cincinnati struggled to get off decent shots with a 35 second clock, 5 less seconds just means even worse shot selection. To force an increase in tempo, you need to create for more spacing by allowing cutters freedom of motion. The officials were supposed to call that more this year, but that didn't last beyond December.

It's hard to get too much insight out of exhibition games since the competition isn't always very good, but I'll be curious to see how some of the slower tempo former big east teams like Syracuse, Pitt, and ND adjust to this.

I don't disagree with you about the Cats. What was more frustrating to me were the bad shots taken within then first 5 seconds of the shot clock.

I'm all for this. The players will have to adjust. The coaches also will have to have more guys on the floor who can shoot. The quality of college basketball has gone down a little lately. Even if they enforce the new freedom of motion officiating, I don't think it's enough. I personally would also like to see the 3 point line moved back. Maybe not as far as NBA, but steps need to be taken imo to clean things up on the offensive end. If guys in the NBA can shoot it like they do in 24 seconds, then 30 shouldn't be a huge deal in D-1. It might take time to adjust but I definitely think this is where the game is headed.

I like the shorter shot clock. Will benefit defensive minded teams and if you cant get a good shot in 30 seconds, chances are you wouldn't have been able to in 35. Will decrease the amt of wasteful time early in the clock and will make end game situations more exciting with extra possessions

Interesting read on Jackson, his hustle and effort is hard to find. I wonder if he improves and gets a little bigger could he sign as a undrafted free agent. Im pulling for the kid. As far as sk goes, i know hes not high on most boards or even on some of them, but i guarantee he has a solid nba career as a good role player, would be a huge steal for whoever drafts him. He's a smart, mature, strong, player who knows how to score, he is nba ready. Hopefully he finds the right fit and can come off the bench and contribute

Two teams this year who have def got better this summer wether through transfer or high school recruiting is South Florida and Houston. IMO they will give us a run when we play them this year along with Memphis, SMU and Uconn.

USF-
Cousins
Peters(transfer)
Holston
Morillo
Mercurius

Houston-
Graham
Johnson(transfer)
Weary
Baker
Dyer
Gjlkondi
Washington
Pollard

Not really NCAA related but def OT. Any thoughts or reaction about Lance's latest antics on the court? He had me rolling and SMH when he blew into Lebron's ear and walking into the Heat's huddle. Sometimes I wonder about him but I give him credit, he owns everything he does.

He's just trying to get into his opponents head with unorthodox tactics. I see it all the time, in every sport, at every level, in a variety of forms. And there was nothing illegal about his appearance in the Heat's huddle. I mean, they're going over their strategy, and it's legal to walk over there. As far as i know, there is no gentleman's agreement to refrain from such behavior, so i'm really not sure why more players don't do it...

lance antics are no different from the heat pre game dances, video bombs, lebron stalking all over the court entire game and lebron has went over to the other teams huddles plenty off times.
Nothing wrong with none of it, you need guys like Lance your team. If Pacers follow lance lead and start making game old school and dirty they can rise up against heat.

I'm with ya guys. I have no problem with it. I don't like how some of his teammates have said public they disapprove of his ways etc. I guess that happens when you have Xavier alum on the team but they should back him regardless.

i love it, lance isnt afraid of anyone and is very confidence. wish there was more stuff like this, trash talk and little mind games make these games so much funner

Agree. Hus confidence is what I love. He owns up to everything he does. And most of the time he can back it up too.
