Any one else think we have the weakest lamest Player introductions in college basketball?

I'm a first year season ticket holder and usually attended a few games a year in the years before becoming one and what I find to be the most underwelming thing about us playing at home is how lame our introductions are.

We don't turn off the lights.

We dont play any good music to pump up the audience

and overall it lacks any sense of excitement.

Xavier on the other hand, puts on a show for its introductions and it pumps there players and the crowd up. At minimum we play a good song, turn off the lights and use the spot light.

Am I alone here or does anyone else think its something that needs spiced back up?

I like the attitude of "It's showtime" when we're at home. I agree that the crowd needs to be able tofeel it. I like the introductions to be as big as possible. I'd have the Bearcat repelling down from the rafters or doing huge dunks off of a trampoline lol.

We had an awesome introduction process during the Huggs years. It was a video of some of our greatest moments, Levett's incredible dunk, Levett dunk to beat Duke, Van Exel halfcourt shot against X, Kenyon highlights, Fortson highlights, and many more. The accompanying music was phenomenal. And at the end of it all leading up to the tip off was the hand clapping scene from Hoosiers. All that stuff never failed to have the crowd in a frenzy right thru tip off. Now, most of the video is of Mick's team highlights and there aren't many of those, plus what accompanies it is totally lame.

I agree 100%, this is an area that needs immense improvement.

We can't turn off the lights because it takes 15 minutes for them to power back up once we do. We lack the LED banners and fancy scoreboard to really create that pre game atmosphere. For a while they wheeled out these portable fireworks but that was honestly more embarrassing than anything.

Our sound system is beyond awful so the idea of pumping out music sounds nice in theory but probably wouldn't be executed very well.

I think the reason why it seemed nice during the Huggs days LT was because we had the same tech as everyone else back then. We haven't upgraded it since the Huggs days and now everyone else is able to do much fancier pre game and in game presentations than we are.

All these issues will be addressed in the renovation and should make for a much better fan experience.

They actually did drop the Bearcat down from the rafters during a big game, I think it was last year but I can't remember. I just remember the place was packed and we were on ESPN that night.

Haha nice. I love that stuff. Hopefully our mascot did better than 'Rocky' the Nuggets mascot.

It worked really well, he didn't pass out and he came down right in front of the student section. It was pretty cool, I hope they do it again when we get another big home game.

I thought the introduction for SK/JJ/TR Senior year was much much better. Can't really remember specifics but just recall better music, they all had a much tighter routine of bumping fists with the entire press row. Maybe it was just those players, but I used to get a lot more amped for those games right before tip.

I attend quite a bit of high major college games and very few if any I can remember have the theatrics your looking for.

Our player announcements are really lame. A huge reason for it is bc our arena lacks any kind of update to date technology to provide a good announcement.

I do miss the pyrotechnics. They did that a couple years ago. I think this year's hype video and song are the worst its been in years.
