I still am under the opinion that Chapman would get rocked his second and third time through a line-up. Once people time him he becomes very hittable. Sure, adding pitches and throwing them effectively should keep hitters guessing and maybe it could work out for him as a starter but I don't want him adjusting to that at the major league level. I just wish he had a little movement on his fastball. I think Chapman is best suited as a closer. Some people think closers are overrated, I'm not one of those people. We have plenty of arms who can start and he is a proven closer.

As far as Hoover is concerned I wouldn't be upset if he never throws another pitch for the Reds. He was just awful last year. Awful.

Up until last year I would have agreed with you ,but last year I think was his year were his game slowed down his third pitch was freezing batters where he could not throw it for a strike. As for Hoover. he had two great years in the pen until 2014.If the reds released him there would be teams lined up to sign him.Hoover will bounce back this year and Chapman will only get better

Why not give Winker a shot at playing LF...other organizations take risks and play their highly touted prospects...the Reds have nothing to lose

We are not going to have a crappy team the year we have the all star game not going to happen. Plus Walt has already been quoted as saying Winker will either report to aa or aaa after only playing half a year last year from being hurt. I would look for a 1 year deal or trade then 2016 is Winkers year.

yea, I'd be very surprised if Winker was on opening day roster. Like you I think they are looking for a one year bridge in LF. If they get it and all are healthy I like this team.

Is there a third basemen with power with one year on his contract because I think Frazier played a good left field. I do not like moving Frazier around like last year. He is our Pete Rose of 2015.

Should have traded Ramirez for Broxton last year with the Brewers

For $16 million? The reason they traded Broxton was for salary relief. So I think that would have been a bad idea, If they go out and spend $16 million on 1 year for a free agent, then I might have agreed with you. But they arent going to do that. They will try and get 2-3 guys for that much

Marlon Byrd

Trade rumor is that a trade talk fell through between reds and phillies. Could still happen did not hear who they wanted from the reds. It was for Byrd.
