Can a mod move this to the professional sports forum so it can be used to discuss the Reds throughout the season?

Another win tonight with solid offense and a strong outing for Leake... 4-0 for the first time since 1990.

The Reds certainly are hitting the baseball. If Volquez re learns how to pitch the Reds will be unstoppable. They spotted the Astros 4 runs tonight and came back at them with 10. Could be a 100 win season.

Certainly an impressive game thus far tonight... 5-0 sounds pretty sweet to me- I'm going to the game tomorrow afternoon!!!

Volquez has an ERA of 2.00 after the first inning this year. He just needs to get through that first inning and he will be fine.

They hit the ball today, I believe they ended up with 11 or 12 hits total, but they couldn't string any rallies together. Myers had Votto's number all day and Hernandez couldn't replicate his late inning heroics from Opening day.

All in all, a great way to start the year and a 5-1 home stand should propel them to a good April. With who they're facing in Arizona 2 of 3 should be expected.

A 4-2 road trip would be nice, hope the hitting continues, if it does the Reds will win the Central by 10 games.

I'm confident in the Arizona series- the San Diego series will be the first true 'test' of the season.

Could not agree more. SD is not the same team as last season however. Looking ahead to those May dates with the Phillies. We will have a very good picture of our progress.

I wonder if the Reds will catch Harang in the SD series...

I'm hoping they do, the guy throws batting practice anymore. I appreciate what he did here as a Red, but he lost it about two years ago. I will say SD is a good spot for him because it doesn't yield a lot of homers and he tends to be a fly ball pitcher. Shots that went out here, might be lazy fly balls to the warning track there.

Nice observation. I think he will still struggle however. Aaron is a grand individual and I have had many opportunties to talk baseball with the gentleman. There isn't a finer man alive. His fastball has lost movement over the past couple years though, even with his adjustments. I do hope he finds success there, but unless he reinvents himself, he will still struggle outside of SD.
