Anyone have any thoughts on the game? Any predictions? Anything in particular you're hoping to see?

I wonder who will start, unlike last year I feel he will switch up the lineup from time to times. Octavius looked good, but who will be the go to go guy in crunch time? I'd like to see troy step up and make the play. But fort this game I want to see a blowout from start to finish and just look good all around. Hopefully shaq and Kevin get going scoring wise cuz we will need that this year, and want to see troy take charge and lead this team by getting the ball in the right guys hand and scoring when needed, I want him to be a floor general this year. I love watching morman and last games incident seems to be smoothed over so I'm exited to watch him.
 
Am I right thinking Maurice Stokes went to St. Francis. For you youngsters Maurice played for the Cincinnati Royals with our Jack Twyman, they became very close when Maurice was ill and needed supervised care. Jack took a personal interest and arranged many fund raisers. A very nice heart warming story.

Good call Waite, Stokes did in fact go to the St. Francis in PA...graduated in 1955.

The obvious three would be Ellis, Thomas, and Caupain. The other two positions will probably come down to practice effort, performance, and attitude.

Clark seems a bit overwhelmed by the spotlight right now so I would bring him off the bench as long as Moore is giving effort. I also like the idea of bringing KJ off the bench. ..let Guyn wear them down a bit.

Big Mo was injured in a fall during a game and had a seizure later that evening. He died in 1970 from a heart attack. He was a very good player.

NTS I was a big Royals fan growing up. I have also seen St. Francis traveling to Edinbourgh College to watch my son wrestle his first varsity match for TOSU.

I'll be there in sec. 202 row 6. I hope St. Francis is good enough to give us a challenge, but I obviously don't want a nail-biter. I'd rather have a well-executed 20 point win than a sloppy 40 point win.
 
How about some predictions for tonight?

I did some brief researching and it looks like St. Francis PA went 18-14 last year. They were 231st in PPG (69.0) and 239th (.431) in field goal % last year, so hopefully our defense can take advantage. They did play a couple tough games though, beating Miami FL in OT and only lost by 6 to #9 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. But obviously, they have plenty of bad losses as well.

I'll say 75-55 Cats. Ellis with a double-double, 15 pts/10 rbs.
 
I'll be there as well! UC is giving away some awesome Homeage t-shirts to the first 1,000 students tonight as well! I will expect a pretty full student section.

Actually they were 10-21 last season and averaged only 61 ppg and gave up about 69 ppg, but they do return about 95% of their scoring. They are picked to finish 4th in their conference this season (NEC). I'm guessing you were looking at a different Saint Francis Team?

Anyway, I think the 'Cats should win easily but I look for them to start off slowly again and pull away in the 2nd half.

Incorrect. You are looking at the St. Francis in New York. This St. Francis was 10-21 last year but does return 95% of their scoring and nearly upset Dayton last year.
 
I'll be there - hope to see a good turn out. Ideally, the team gets punched in the mouth early again and have to really work for a 80-65 win. These first few games this team really has to grow to get ready for the meat of the OOC.
 
I'll be there as well. Excited to see this team finally play a real game. I'm hoping Mick plays Morman at least 10 minutes. I liked what I saw from him in the exhibition games. Shaq needs to come out and set the tempo with the same aggression he showed in the second half of the Fairmont State game. Build an early lead and never look back so these new guys can log some minutes in the second half
