Game is Sunday at 12 PM EST on ESPNU.

South Florida is 3-13. They are #280 in KenPom. I'm guessing we'll be -16 or so. Tough having 2 road games in a short span, but USF stinks. I won't be a happy camper if we sleepwalk through this game.

Ii won't happen but I'd start
Jenifer
Cobb
Evans
Clark
Moore

If there is any life in this team, we should see a bounce back on Sunday. I'm not overly optimistic about the effort we'll see, but again, USF is horrible. We can NOT sink to their level.

UC 62
USF 56

Ellis shouldn't start. Moore should be rewarded for his play last night and in practice. USF is huge team. We'll need two bits most of the game.

I second that. No way Ellis should start. I'm not saying don't play him but he needs another reality check.

In terms of the game, I think if we have any lead lower than 12 points with 4 minutes to go, we should be worried. This team has proven they like to waste possessions and settle for terrible jumps during the closing minutes. Oh and they like to not rebound during that span. I haven't seen anything saying they have learned from their mistakes.

Troy. Cobb. Evans. Clark. Deberry. Should start.

Uc needs to start developing Gary as the offensive focal point with a ton of touches. Come crunch time we need to be able to run the offense through him.

Who Coach starts is not important to me. Most fans are day to day with who they are in love with. Before last game many were very satisfied with Shaq's game this year. A bad performance and some want him benched. Moore buried at end of bench. KJ will have his moments. I just want them to win. who he plays to get the job done is on him.

Life is day to day

Cause troy is very good.

The numbers don't support that right now. Neither does our overall record. I just want accountability. I'd have the seniors not named Cobb and the 3 year guys coming off the bench for this game. They are the "leaders" of the team (Cobb has played better than any of those guys that's why I think he should stay in). Everyone is so quick to praise Caupain especially. Some say it's HIS team, some say he's one of the best guards in the country, even an NBA prospect. If any of that is true, I don't know why there's no consequence for him shooting under 40% overall, under 30% from 3, and leading us to the overall record that we have. 11 ppg with extremely inefficient percentages on a bubble team isn't going to cut it.

He's struggled shooting the ball, there is no doubt. Mostly because he's struggled from 3 and shot too many 3's. Inside the arc he's actually shooting a career high %. His ORtg is at a career high, a big boost from last year, mainly because his turnovers are way down.

Bad shooting years happen. SK shot under 40% for the year as a jr and only 30% from 3.

Caupain's 115.2 ORtg right now is higher than SK's Fr, SO, and Jr seasons.

So while some bad plays are fresh in our minds, and some pivotal plays haven't gone out way, we can't let that cloud the entire picture.

Are we go run to stats to justify our narrative everytime? If season ended today only Cobb would make All AAC

I still think Caupain is very good. I actually think he can be 1st team All-AAC this year. So keep that in mind when I'm being critical. And I'm just talking about having him come off the bench for 1 game to send a message. He isn't above the rest of the team. If he can come off the bench, that'd be a huge eye opener for the rest of the guys. I just feel like we fans don't treat every player the same, and even the coaches send mixed messages. We hear about how well Moore has been doing in practice and he hustles his ass off in games, but he's the last off the bench and only used when we have serious foul trouble. Coach says Jenifer had his best game ever, then he doesn't get off the bench for 1 second the next game. Fans want Ellis benched, when really foul trouble has been the main thing holding him back (he did it to himself by getting T'd up vs Tulsa). But DeBerry has actually been less productive, and even more foul prone. So who is rewarded and who is being held accountable? And why?

We're 4-5 in our last 9 games. In that span, Caupain is averaging 34.4 minutes per game. Jenifer is under 7. Coincidence? Maybe. But I don't see how having an additional ball handler to take the load off an important player can ever be a bad thing. Obviously the coach disagrees...but the W-L record doesn't.

Those last 9 games are when we've faced top competition and Mick balls up in the corner and reverts to a slow tempo game and refuses to play Jenifer for even a minute or two. He'd rather give those additional minutes to Kevin Johnson, another veteran he trusts.

He did it with Ellis and what did it do? What message are you wanting to send? If you miss some shots you get benched?

The message is: If you're a leader on the team, going 11-5 on your watch and crumbling down the stretch is not acceptable at Cincinnati. And not just Caupain, but all the veterans.

Yeah that's not a reason to bench him or any other player. Doing stuff like that is how you completely lose a team.

You bench guys for not working hard. You bench guys when their backups are better and playing better. You don't take starting jobs away because a hand full of plays aren't executed in a couple of games.

You claim players should have more freedom and have to worry less about messing up, but yet you want to do this? That doesn't make sense.

Having freedom doesn't mean there is zero accountability. But you're right, I'm not at practice, I have no idea what is being said behind closed doors. I don't doubt that our veterans are team guys who want to win, but somethings gotta give. Cincinnati should never have a 4-5 stretch at any point, ever. So I'm just looking for a way to shake things up a bit.
