We also played Xavier and never had a week off like most teams in our conference did

I dunno if they were physically tired or not. But we seemed pretty mentally drained from a game like the night before.

If physical or mental exhaustion is an excuse from here on out we are SOL.

I think it had more to do with not making a shot and being down by 10 before the blink of an eye. That will take it out of you real quick.
Another thing is, they don't seem to show up in big games. I don't know if it's a talent level thing or if I'm just fooling myself but the intensity doesn't appear the same against the better teams. Don't think I'm the first to say this

It's a confidence issue for some of our players IMO. I don't think some of them have bought into the idea that they belong on the big stage. Kyle does not have a confidence issue (I just wish he could stay in a game). Gary will battle in any game. Evans confidence is building again but he's not quite there yet in terms of getting that shot off whenever he wants so he's indecisive. Troy has been struggling all year for some reason with some flashes like the first two games of conference tourney. KJ needs to see a shot fall early or he becomes a liability on offense. Cumberland is gaining confidence but still a frosh so he's probably susceptible to not wanting to put too much on his shoulders and take over a game.

We can't go into any remaining games thinking we are not the better team. We have to be aggressive while sharing the ball. We have to be willing to attack and show other teams we are not only not going to back down but we are going to take it right to you. Our coach has to give this team the confidence going into this tournament that they belong on a stage with UCLA or Kentucky etc...and that if we execute we will win the game.

He has to look each player right in the face in front of the rest of the team and ask them if they believe they can beat any team in the country on a given night. If they all answer yes...he needs to ask each of them if they are willing to put every ounce of energy into each game and fight for their teammates. They should all answer yes. He should then make each of them look the rest of the team in the eyes and say..."I believe we can beat anyone and you have my vow I will fight for this team until you have to carry me off the floor".

Yah right lol! Movies about teams that play with inspiration. I am not sure this team has the "belief" or confidence to win a few games...but I think they should because I think they can with the right attitude.

We just gotta beat the team we do play. We don't have to worry about teams we might play.

this team has played tough all year. If we lose it won't be effort in my opinion. If we make shots we will win. If we shoot like we did against SMU we will be going home.

Yah...they always hustle.

I just want this team to come out with assertiveness on offense. We know we can play D and rebound...but we need to get it in our heads that we are a good offensive team when we are confident. Just look at our home record. We need to bring that mentality on the road. We can play with anyone when we play with the confidence we have at home. Our home team is top 10 in the country...it's just a matter of the mind. 90% of it is in our heads.

I think I read somewhere that we average 70 or so on neutral floors.
