Agreed 100%! He's a better shooter this year from long range. His arc is much better and it shows

If it wasn't for some turnover issues, he has been very solid. I don't ever get the feeling that he is giving less than 100%. He seems to really care, which is how a senior should be.

He's been very selective and has chucked up some late 3's late in the clock. All in all I would call that good BB IQ!! His shot is better this year also which will probably not go down as a "progression" in terms of player development.
blame the guards if Shaq has to continue to take last seconds contested 3's

Let's talk about progression and regression and list all of the players traits that have gone through either one.

First off Cobb has shot lights out compared to last year from 3

Caupain has been MAGNIFICENT in assist to turnover ratio

Ellis...only 1 technical also up in points and rebounds:)

Evans over Sanders is a progression

Shaq is a better shooter

Who has regressed and how?

Ellis has turned the ball over more.

What else do we need to know? Defense seems to need improvement!!

I think all things considered, we should be fairly happy with what we have gotten out of Shaq this year. He actually has passed the eye test, nothing spectacular, but a definite improvement.

disagree. He is a 5th year senior and plays like a frosh 50% of the game. His turnovers are horrible, he is a terrible passer, still a bad outside shooter, and a subpar defender. His spacing sucks and when he gets the ball he looks like he is about to have a spasm. I'd love to know what he does well on this team. I know that sounds bad and Shaq seems like a great person, but on the court he has been a huge disappointment in every way possible.

Agreed! I think he is more involved and cares more. I can deal with his turnovers more than others/

Again, stats can be manipulated however you want. I won't go through everything, but you left off Kevin Johnson. I wonder why? oh yea, the stats didn't support the argument.

Amen, anyone saying otherwise is blind, ignorant or both. Shaq and KJ are like offensive poison. Nothing either of them does well even comes remotely close to making up for how much their presence on the floor hurts us.

I think you might be delusional on half of this and the other half may be correct

He's not a subpar defender on THIS team. He's making 50% of his 2 pointers and above 33% on his 3 pointers. He's decent at rebounding and blocks and assists. He's playing like 25 minutes per game so the coach sees something you are not...which is probably what I am pointing out.

He's by FAR not the problem right now. He allows us to play with him at the 3 and 4 which can put Evans at the 2 and 3.

33% on 3 pointers is not good in college. The fact that you think it is and use it as a reason to why Mick is playing him is interesting to say the least. Again, what does Shaq do well?

It's better than Caupain or KJ and I don't know how much it went up after this game

And I think I pointed out everything else...if you didn't read it I can't explain why

In 200 minutes of available playing time, I think Shaq has to get at least 20. Who else can we count on?

33% has always been viewed as a good % for a three point shooter, essentially equivalent to being a 50% shooter from two.

It looks like Shaq is UP to 40% this year from three. He's making good decisions at worst (if he is a bad shooter). Maybe he should shoot more??

I don't think it's a great % but you are EXACTLY right on this L-T.

You get more fouls from driving but yes...I would take 33% or better as a low standard

This doesn't even quantify how many times he has had to take a last second type of forced bad shot. Maybe his open shots would be more like 45% OR 50% who knows
