For the first time in what seems like a while we don't have that defensive stopper who could guard anyone on the floor. We're missing a Rubles, Parker, Jackson, or Bishop type of player.
Ellis, Shaq, Caupain, Clark and Evans would fall into that category if allowed to play man.

Right. I don't take that difference into consideration either. Feels like just looking for extra reasons to blame Mick. LD had his share of flaws.
A perfect example of how we are guarding his year is with the score 67-65. Shaq is just standing there and Dingle lights him up for a hoop. Shaq didn't even wave his hand at him. Game is in balance and we don't even make a effort to defend. Not trying to signal Shaq out but that is where this team is. The fact that Ellis did not start yesterday says there is more going on then we may know with the team. Mick may be starting to lean on folks.

Jacob bro it's big difference on coaching styles. Our inside game for first time in 10yrs was better than it had been. Everybody on team knew their role. Now when our subs come into game they ALL fire up first shot they see. Our bigs outplayed Kentucky 5 1st rd bigs yesterday TEMPLE bigs DESTROYED us

4 of those 5 guys typically start. Yesterday was an exception. What evidence have you seen of them being able to stop opponents consistently? You're saying it would all change if they played man?

Ellis was candidate for DPOY in preseason. Shaq was supposed to be our defensive stopper. Clark played like a man last year as frosh down low on D. Troy if didn't play zone would probably lead conference if he doesn't in steals. Evans if gets stronger has Jimmy butler written all over him.

We didn't really gel as a team for LD until toward the end of the year.

Bottom line is we need some heart right now. The team has to come together as a group and hold each other accountable for effort.

We need to be scrapping for every loose ball and rebound and man up on D. There is only one man on the team that I can tell wants to win badly enough. He gets excited when he makes a good play and gets mad when he makes a bad play and you can tell when the team gives up a big play he cares.

Not sitting back letting your PG walk ball up every possession. Huggs would've been to embarrassed by performance at home to not got 1 technical
a accumulation of techs is not a indication of caring. Oh and by the way if Huggs could have kept his drunk ass from behind the wheel we may not be in this spot.

Jacob Evans needs more shots.
Troy Caupain needs fewer shots.

The shots are there for Evans...he just needs to take them instead of being fragile. He got toasted by DeCosey yesterday and didn't want much to do with the rest of the game.

Caupain has the 3rd highest 2 pt % on the team behind Ellis and Clark. He's been pretty good driving the ball and knows how to take contact in the lane. Also does a pretty nice job with the pull up J. Maybe he could be a little more selective with 3 pointers and opt for the 2 pt shot since his 3 ball % went down with volume.

I think Caupain is emerging. As someone mentioned, he started 7-11 from the floor but yet again logged 36 minutes and couldn't be as good down the stretch.

Guys our offense is far from perfect but the reason we are losing is defense and rebounding. We gave up 18 second chance points to a team we outsized.

jake it would also be a help to TC if on ocassion Cobb could bring the ball up the floor. He did it last year while subbing for TRoy why not this year.
