Georgetown is playing good basketball right now. They are efficient offensively and defensively, especially the past couple weeks they are solid. UC beat the Hoyas last game by forcing turnovers and getting transition buckets. But Georgetown shot over 50% and got good looks all day long. If UC wants to win today they need to keep GT in the 45% range.
This has the potential to be a big game on the boards for Yancy Gates. The Bearcats will need him to throw his bulk around and get some offensive rebounds. With UC's inconsistent offense, they will need the extra shots. I don't think the Cats will force 17 turnovers again, but I do think they'll get 12 or so. They have to take advantage and score in transition.
Offensively, UC needs to move the ball and not randomly fire up bad threes. The offense goes to another level when they attack the basket and share the ball. Dribble drive and playing inside out will be big today. I also believe UC needs at least one guy today to hit threes consistently throughout the game. It'd be good to see SK sink about 4 today.
Defensively, I think the Bearcats will pressure and play zone. Since going to the zone UC has done a better job preventing penetration. Quick guards have hurt them all year. Also, they have to pressure the perimeter shooters and not give them good looks. Henry Sims is the straw that stirs the drink. Gates size, strength and athleticism bothered him in the regular season game. We need to see a repeat of that.
I feel good about winning this game. I think the score is similiar to the first games with the Bearcats on top in a close, tightly played contest.
