Probably afraid of the blow by to the rim. I kind of wish they didn't have to use those 4 early timeouts but they were all necessary. With a timeout, UofL doesn't score, IMO...
Cronin said they were supposed to foul Harrell - but.................you know the rest.

So here are a couple of issues we have to work out.

Against good D's we get exposed with ball handling. Some of that is because we go too fast and some of that is because we just don't have great ball handlers. I like the idea of letting guys like TR, ST, or JS bring the ball up in certain games as long as the matchup is right. We got pick pocketed today a few times...and for easy uncontested layups. We went too fast into the lane as well without thinking sometimes and got a lot of our shots blocked.

The other thing we need is either someone (or everyone) to step up other than SK or possibly JJ to score. Unfortunately I just don't see that happening. We have had enough time for that to happen already.

I think we can play with just about any team in the country...but we could fall short in big games if we can't address at least one of these two. Relying on SK has worked a lot but it's not going to work every time.

That whole replay bullsh!t totaled 7 minutes. That is a crime and a freaking shame. Those "refs" should never be able to "ref" in another game this year. Of course it is PC to say we lost bc we gave up those layups. But come on, 7 minutes. It killed every ounce of momentum. Loserville did not deserve to win that game. They got away with murder the entire game. Kinda like how sleeze bag Pitino got away with getting head at a restaurant by some dumb skank.

I agree Waite! You are a class act. It was nice as hell meeting you today!
will definitely do it again. Maybe before the Memphis game. Enjoy your week. Cats will get back on track they are to good not to. A small bump in the road.lets win out and take the conference tourney.

I'm concerned about Jackson getting into quick foul trouble in the NCAA tournament. Also I fear UC will run into a more talented team that underachieved. We will need continued improvement from Caupain and Lawrence along with scoring contributions from Sanders and Thomas. Without those things, UC is a prime candidate for an early upset. Every year there is 2-3 teams that overachieved and got a high seed only to lose in the first round (New Mexico and Georgetown come to mind).

I know there could be fines involved but I wish Cronin would have blasted the officiating. He got so disrespected in his own gym. The league officials have been so poor this year its just terrible.

There needs to be some accountability here. I read the recap of the game on ESPN and they dont even mention the 7 minute break in which they make a call, reverse the call, then reverse the reverse back to the original call. What a joke.

I can't stand Jim Boheim but I loved hearing him blast the refs was refreshing.

It is a lot easier to question the refs as a HOF coach than as a young head coach. Boeheim complaining comes off as just being intense and wanting to win, while Cronin's comments would have been construed as whining. UC will take up officiating with the league office, and per usual nothing will come of it. The call against Syracuse was so ridiculous, that even the staunchest Duke supporter couldn't defend it. Of course, Coach K after the game and said he thought it was a charge. I'm sure he also thought that the block called against Syracuse earlier in the half was the right call. But when calls always go in your favor, why would you think otherwise.

I get what you're saying. It really bugs me that on all the recaps they don't even mention the 7 minute delay on what was the worst 7 minutes of officiating I've ever seen. That was the game changer and the media act like it never happened.

How upset would Boeheim be if Duke shot FT's after that call, and not technical FT's?

On a positive note....the shoe was awesome, minus the concourse issues.

Biggest issue today with refs.
Blown calls happen... the ticky tack fouls on the perimeter and the murders row In the lane. There simply can't be that big of a difference.

Pitino is a loser, on the court all game. If I'm a player on running him over... one of the few that is glad uc ul done, can't stand him.

I agree. I really can't stand him. He is scum. Could you imagine his comments after the game if UL lost like they should have. Guarantee he wouldn't have shown the restraint that Cronin did in the post game.

The win didn't change anything. After the game he basically said it was only close because our bad FT shooters couldn't miss.

You guys realize that Cincinnati only made 3 field goals the last 10 minutes of the game right? Most of the points came on free throws (16-18 from the line down the stretch). Lousivlle was called for more fouls too. The refs were horrible but in the end probably benefited Cincinnati more than Louisville. Only a blind homer would think otherwise.

Can anybody that was at the game clarify this for me? A couple people on Twitter yesterday said UC fans were "throwing crap all over the court" at the end of the game. Any truth to this? Since it's only a person or two mentioning it, I have to assume one guy threw a cup and haters are just looking to stir drama about our fan base.

Disagree. I think the refs letting Harrell get away with physical play, while whistling guys like Mathiang and Hancock for touch fouls, was the biggest advantage of the game. It kept their best offensive player on the court for 39 minutes.

Yes things where thrown in the direction of the court during a timeout... mostly t shirts that didn't make it to the court... Uc made an announcement saying please refrain from throwing things onto the court
