So were the chances that Torian Graham would end up at Houston. Recruiting is an inexact science, so I wouldn't rule out Martin. I agree that it seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

It came from a newspaper then the Memphis board then Chad. Noone said he's coming here we are just saying what if he did but there is interest from both parties.

He is familiar with our coaching staff/players from summer league/games
He wouldn't have to move far, already in City
Could come in and get immediate PT

Nobody really knows b/c to my knowledge nobody can speak to him yet about recruiting. There is smoke from a few boards about mutual interest with UC.

Re: Torian - really think that the coaching staff backed off. Hearing that he really isn't fully cleared from brush with law. That coupled with the fact that he committed now says that he doesn't think that UK would offer him. Also, Antigua didn't go after him at USF, that says something as well.

Not in a bad mood. You came here spewing off what you think are "facts" and they most certainly are not. You BELIEVE he won't come here, which is fine. No problem with that. But you can't act as if this has no chance of happening, unless you've heard something from a legit source, and I do not believe that is the case.

The guy mentioned he saw it in their newspaper, but usually, even if a story is on a paysite you can do a google search and bring up the article. Or something relating to the article. You cant read it, but you will still get a headline or something. I havent been able to find the article or anything, just a memphis poster who said something. (was he just being sarcastic..Oh guys leaving X, bet he goes to UC) or was he being serious. Its really hard to tell without any other information.

I just find it weird that a day after he mentions transferring that a memphis newspaper is the only one mentioning this in the entire country.

There wasnt an entire article on it. Just a daily tid bit in the recruiting section.
It could be something as simple as The Commercial Appeal sports writer asking an assistant coach of Memphis if they had any interest in Justin Martin and was told no hes going to Cincinnati.

Someone could say the same thing to you. "Why is it so hard for you to just admit that the staff backed off?"

Once again you are missing the point. No one KNOWS whether the staff missed or backed off. I am sure once recruits are signed we will have a better idea what happened. We may never know for sure though. To say the staff backed off may be premature (unless someone has inside info) and to say the staff missed is definitely premature at this time. One thing I do know, this kid is not Lance Stephenson. Is it possible the staff did it's due diligence on Lance and Torian and decided that Lance was worth the risk and Torian was not? Sounds like a reasonable possibility to me. The point is, before anyone makes definitive statements, wait until we have all the info, or at least as much info as we are going to get. For anyone to claim they KNOW the staff backed off or missed is just opening them up to look foolish in a few weeks or months.

The staff was never all in on Graham. Several of us have been trying to say that for weeks here. Mick was never sold on him. Lots of baggage follows Graham.
