It would be 4 top 25 wins in 4 days and a 6-1 finish overall putting us at 25-10 (9-9) with some solid computer numbers. It is a crapshoot where we would end up but I would probably say 4-5 line if the dream became reality.

well maybe uc will surprise everyone and do it, then we can see for sure. :D

our first round game is not going to be against a ranked team

when its all said and done we will get an 8 seed and than play duke in the second round :)

No way wed be a 15 or 16...those seeds are reserved for the small conference champions. The lowest seed we could feasibly get would be about a 12

Like I said 2 weeks ago...all we need is 1 more win to be tourney locks. Over the last 6 or 7 years, 54 big east teams made the tourney with 20+ wins, only 2 have not. And both of those teams had RPIs in the high 100's.

Even if the only win is at Louisville I still don't get think 20-12 is enough. The expected RPI would be in the high 60's. The two BE teams with 20 wins that missed the tournament in the last 5 years are Seton Hall last year (68 RPI) and USF in 2010 (71 RPI). Need 21 wins by Selection Sunday.

If they win at Louisville they are 100% in. Don't forget, even if we only beat usf...we still get to play either DePaul, Rutgers, seton hall, or usf again. So two games left where we will probably be double digit favorites.

Personally, I think we win against UCONN and Louisville, lay an egg at USF..and win 2 in the BE tourney.

Mick always has his guys prepared for rivals and teams with national reputations. South Florida beat Georgetown earlier this year and I expect our guys to count the win before tipoff. I could see it being like the providence game. But Louisville really doesn't scare me, and I doubt shabazz napier has another career performance. Louisville lives and dies with siva and smith, force them into bad decisions and we escape with a win.

I guess Dieng died?

Winning at UL and then turning around and losing at home to USF is pretty much a wash. What BE tournament bracket have you been looking at? We are going to finish somewhere in the 7-10 range, so the only likely first round opponents are Nova, St. John's, or Providence. If they beat UL, but lose to UConn, USF, and say Providence they are not getting in. It's going to take 21 wins and really that shouldn't be that difficult for a tournament worthy team.

No the ncaa selection committee stated they look more at who you beat, rather than who you lost to, so you shouldn't call it a wash. I haven't looked at the bracket, was just saying what the tv announcer said the other night.
Dieng didn't die.. but when siva and smith arent getting him the ball because they are making bad decisions, he will be neutralized on offense.

I've had a bad feeling for the last month that Dieng will absolutely destroy us inside.

Mbodj is a pretty good defender and I think he will hold his own against Dieng. Smith and Siva are so much better than our guards it's not funny. Hopefully they just have a bad shooting night.
