Amen! Cronin said the same thing. He said SK should attack the rim but shoots a contested jump shot.

Absolutely brutel road schedule ahead. Looks like a 1-4 finish; 8-10 in Big East; 20-11 overall.

Something I agree with you Ralph. I think we absolutely at worst need to go 2-3 to be off the bubble. I hate to say it, it's like not talking about the elephant in the room but does anyone else think we might not make the dance?

Not I don't think that at all.

was at the game...best crowd of the season from the tip...also, the most silent crowd i have ever witnessed in the last 10 seconds in my 13 years of attending the games...normally, there is still noise from people yelling or talking to their peers, but last night was eerie...the fans are speechless, just like Cronin...his postgame was reminiscent of Huggins...i tried explaining mick's frustrations to my girlfriend who went to the game with me: i told her it was like trying to teach her 2nd grade students calculus. she can teach them till she is blue in the face but if they are not able to adopt and apply, they wont be successful...here are a few of my observations from last night:

-Parker, minus the killer 3pt shot from Porter, basically shut Porter down...he is most likely a 1st round draft pick, and the defense (mainly Parker) kept him in check
-Parker looked like the Parker we expected after last season during his late 2nd half flurry...he seemed confident and comfortable running the show...and his free throws looked better during that stretch as well...why did he stop? (i am really starting to wonder if the Cats have a "senior/star wants his touches" problem...i heard whispers of this with Lance on the team and i think i read a comment somewhere where Rubles and a couple of younger players are looking to get SK/Cash their shots...if so, someone remind Parker he is a senior)

-Personally, i thought tonight was Jackson's best game...the energy he brings to both sides of the floor cannot be matched...if he could harness his energy and talents, he could be something special

-i wonder if Sean was thinking too much about catching the eyes' of the scouts watching Porter...he really needs to work on his dribbles, especially on a night when his shot is not falling

-does anyone know if Lawrence is capable of playing pissed off?...Mbodj is a totally different player defensively when he plays aggressively, but like Gates, he plays too nice

-Rubles did better at looking for his shot in the lane and he filled in defensively well against Gtown's bigger players

-Sanders, like everyone else, could not hit his open shots...he as well did very well defensively, and i think it said a lot with how many minutes he got down the stretch (and i know it was probably for his shot ability, but his defense was solid)

-Guyn, to me, took several steps back tonight...from where i sat, the foul he made looked very dirty...i havent seen the replay to know for sure, but my instinct is not to give him the benefit of the doubt due to his lack of temperament...he made a dumbass one-handed pass on a break and instead of kicking his own ass, it looked like he took his frustrations out on the Gtown player...he had been playing so much better, and he could have been helpful last night in spelling Cash for some extra minutes...i really wish JD was healthy

-i give Cash credit for gutting it out and trying to lead his team to a win in his senior year, but he is not the same player on either side of the floor...congrats to him though on the steals record

I am not sure where this team will end up in March...the way they are playing now, is it really unrealistic to consider them on the bubble?...i am hoping they will kick it in soon, like the last couple of years...

Go Bearcats!

I'm starting to think that way. We'll join the group of Last 4 In/First Four Out, or whatever they call them.

I feel very confident going forward. Regular season means nothing and we only need to beat south Florida to nake the tourney. We have PLENTY of quality wins, have not been blown out, and most of our losses are by 1 or 2 points.

This can't be correct. The committee looks at how you finish. If we only beat USF, we would be 20-12 and 8-11 in the Big East (including a loss in the BE tournament). That does not seem like a tournament resume, especially considering how big of a end of season tank it would be.

Everyone needs to relax. At this point the cats are nowhere near the bubble. The bubble is incredibly weak this year and the remaining schedule is difficult with opportunities to notch big wins along the way while not risking much with a loss. The only bad loss would be at home vs. USF.

Re: JJ. That move he made in the beginning of the game looked like something out of the NBA. Where did it come from? After that, every time he put the ball on the floor, it was stripped. I still love his energy, but between the free throws and turnovers..............

I don't think people need to relax. The fact is we are playing our worst basketball of the season, and we've been playing it for a couple of weeks straight now...and the offense has been stagnant for much longer than that. With our upcoming schedule ahead, if we play the way that we've played the last two weeks, we will go 1-4 (assuming South Florida doesn't beat us). 1-4 and a loss in the Big East tournament = Bubble or worse.

This is reminding me of 3, 4 and 5 seasons ago where we got worse as the season went on. The last two years, obviously we turned it on beautifully and went on a run. But players haven't really developed / improved the past couple months.

My thoughts on the game:
-Unbelievable how we can't finish around the basket. Jackson, Mbodj, Rubles. Jesus.
-FT shooting is horrid and that is on the players. Whoever said Cronin should get fired for FT shooting is way off base. Take some f-ing pride, work on your free throws and convert in the game.
-Rubles is horrible offensively. Horrible. HORRIBLE. I'm quite tired of people on this board acting like he is a productive offensive player. He is not. Another 2 TOs in 20 minutes last night (which pro-rates to 4/per game for a full game). Not to mention, he is out of control, frequently charges, makes dumb decisions and shoots a horrible percentage. He's not getting better this year. Easy for me to say...but I'd rather give a lot of his minutes to Shaq and tell Shaq to attack the basket.
-Combine Rubles with Jackson's performance last night and the offensive production out of our 4 spot is a joke.
-Porter and Lubick had 4 fouls each with significant time to go. How do we not drive at them and foul one or both of them out in a close game? That's on Mick.
-Cash and SK combine for 8-27 shooting and 3-15 from three point. Given the lack of support we get from anyone not named JaQuon Parker, we are usually not going to overcome that.
-Parker was a monster, and loved watching his heart last night.
-On a very small positive, I think we were trying to attack the basket more last night, which I think we need to do. We weren't hitting shots and we were frequently out of control but I did think there was less of pointless passing/dribbling while the shot clock winds down and firing up a piece of sh*t shot with 2 seconds to go in the shot clock.

We just are not a good team right now. Maybe we go on a run at the right time but it's tough to have confidence in that.

Lets keep in mind 68 teams make the tourney nowadays. Not to mention the bubble is soft. We have no more need to worry than any other team in America. If Louisville loses out, they will be under 500 in big east play. Have some faith and confidence, geez.

The Big East, somehow, is under the radar this year. Wait until we play teams from the pac, big 12 or sec. Our defense alone should carry us to the sweet 16, the other conferences are lightyears behind the beast in defensive efficiency.

ND is the only team that worries me, since we suck against teams that can pass. But UCONN and Louisville are good matchups for us.

I was only able to see the last 6min of the game so cannot comment too much

It sickens me to see how often we rely on the 3. Post player or not, there are too many ways to get the ball to the rim. Cash, Killa and Saunders on key possessions hoisted 3's. On the possession Cash shot his 3, Im not even sure the ball made it inside the 3pt line. These are things that are conserning, whether were in a slump or are still in good shape for the Tourny, this stuff has to be corrected

Do you really think well finish 0-4 against UCONN (x2), ND, and Louisville? I think at the very worst, we only win one of those 4.

to be honest, uc could very well go 0-4 in those games.

nothing i've seen makes me feel good for a w. at some point you have to put the ball in the basket. we can defend, rebound, till we're blue in the face. all that dirty work means very little when you struggle to shoot 50% on the line in your own gym. then when you jack 24 treys and only make 4.

they shoot in that gym everyday. those numbers are embarrassing.
