Game opened at a pickem. Should be a fun one. Let's just play a good, well executed game. Some sense of ball movement, cut down on the turnovers and high energy on defense. Win or lose, I just want them to play well and put on a good showing for the rest of the country. These games are always big for branding.

Last Uconn game Guyn got 27 minutes to Caupain's 13. Caupain probably needs at least 20 for us to win.

Neither team has played that great outside of drubbing Memphis in the past few weeks. If Cincinnati is strong with the ball and doesn't turn it over for points, they will win. Less than 15 turnovers is the magic number. I also would like to see more Caupain and Johnson and less Guyn when it counts. With the way UConn will defend UC, guys like Shaq and Sanders will need to be aggressive. I believe UC is the better team, but the role players haven't done much of anything in either matchup.

Not hardly. What we need is SK not to go 4-16 with 7 TO's like last game we lost 51-45

The offense runs smoother with Caupain in, so there is less stress/pressure on SK to have the ball all the time.

Also with Caupain we get a lot more free buckets in transition. We'll need as many of those as we can get. Uconn plays great half court defense.

With one guy that dominates the ball the way Napier does, I think it's a priority to have Guyn out there on him when possible. I like TC more also, but it's a product of the matchup and he is just not on GG's level for on the ball D.

I'd really like to see 10 or fewer turnovers - they had 14 last night and almost blew it. Agree totally with more Caupain & KJ. JJ & SK will be the focus of the defense, so the others (you, TR) will have to step up big time.

thats not really how Uconn plays offense or how UC plays defense.

and TC is not bad at defense at all.

small sample size but none of napiers baskets last game came when TC was in the game. they did come off turnovers though bc the team didn't have a PG to handle the ball.

Having a PG that can actually bring the ball up the court (i.e. Caupain) instead of requiring a SG would greatly help with lowering the turnover numbers.
i have no problem with Caupain getting more minutes. The fact remains SK can't go 4-16 and have 7 TO's. He'll have to handle the ball at some point. many of his TO's that game were unforced and led to uncontested lay ups.

i'm fine with that but their two best players are guards. So putting your best Defensive guard on them is important a well. My point is we need to take better care of the ball. We turned the ballover so many times against Louisville and UCONN and still almost won both games. We need to take care of the ball including SK.

Mick has been rotating them at crunch. When he can get Guyn in for defense he subs and then he'll replace him with Caupain when there is a break or foul.

Does Mick have an answer for the SK double team yet? Last time we played UConn they doubled him every touch. They tripled on Jackson when he got the ball down low, too. This shut down our offense.

Will be interested to see if this happens again and what Mick does.

Its all about our turnovers and working hard to get a good offensive shot. We take care of those two things we have a great chance of winning.

Every point has been from the line or in the paint. That is a good sign. Now they need to keep Daniels from getting open shots.
