There was nothing inherently optimistic about that post. It was a number of suggestions on how we could have won games decided by two points. For some reason you thought it was optimistic. They were only suggestions

I get it. My point is, SMU fans aren't sitting around naming a few different plays that could make them 10-4 instead of 14-0. Only the team that loses does that exercise. No big deal.

We aren't SMU. We are Cincinnati. We have to figure it out. Of course fans who are 14-0 aren't going to be looking for answers . I still don't understand what you are talking about. We aren't SMU. ..we aren't 14-0

We have to figure out ways to win...i was suggesting ways we could do that.

Oh oh oh. I thought you were re-visiting our losses and saying if any of those scenarios are different, we would've won those games. So you're really saying we just have to figure those little things out for our future games. That clears things up.

No. I was talking about both. People keep talking about specific things that we could have done better to win certain games. In specific late game heroics was one.

I am saying we could have won those games in one of many many ways. If we can improve on them...we can beat top 10 teams.

BTW I've bit my tounge a lot on this issue and have defended Mick for the past few years on this board because some of the criticisms have been ridiculous.

What you thought was ridiculous, wasn't so ridiculous.

It would be VERY hard to argue we can't beat top 10 teams without slight adjustments. I don't know if we will make them...but that's not the point.

Well, enough bitching for tonight. On to S. Fla. Looking forward to this nice long stretch of mediocre AAC teams.

We are literally 3 buckets from being a top 10 team. I can't understand how anyone can argue that small changes couldn't amount to dramatic improvements.

If you mix in the Temple loss, it wouldn't be so hard to argue.

And before anyone gets a hair up their ass...this is my last year for support of the coach. In terms of rehiring him...i will always support any coach who is in the middle of a season. Football. ..basketball. ..i don't care

I swear we're going to be in the NIT talking about how we would've made it to the Final 4 "if only" A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O and P would've happened differently.

Inevitably here is what happens. EVERYONE comes out of the woodwork when we lose.

Cronin haters, tempo haters, Caupain haters, etc.

I'm not here to argue any single point. ..but i can easily argue that we could have done one small thing against 3 top 20 teams that would have won us a game. Easiest argument on history.

But we haven't done it. Can we do it?

Sure. Will we do it? I guess I would bet no right now.

All I am suggesting are ways I think we can change the pattern and for some reason I am considered delusional
