Was Mick Cronin REALLY an Underachiever in March?

Nothing about me isn’t being a big boy. I’m fine with Mick being gone, I’m just not going to bash him like all these other guys. And I’m certainly not gonna make Brannen out to be better for us. I’m not sold either way on John yet, but he didn’t do much of anything to push me into positive thinking about what he can do here. He’s struggled mightily in many areas, unfortunately you guys are just in denial about that.

Some of you are in denial that Cronin struggled in areas too and think he was infallible.

then don't bash him. maybe i missed it, did someone ask you to bash him??

I'm not sold on him yet either, I'm very optimistic. He has had to deal with a ton this year. At times they have struggled and at times they have looked fantastic. His first year at this level, what exactly were you expecting?

This is how I feel. Optimistic but he has definitely struggled. I’m just not ready to freak out yet. Half the team is new, wether you want to blame him or not, they are still new. Obviously something is wrong with his best player and the best player in the league. That’s also going to hurt. We there people want to admit it.

I feel like all the Brannen apologist have set the bar really high.


Mick dominated the regular season and won back to back conference tourney titles.

With Brannen being better then mick, it’s fair to expect that and to expect the tourney stuff. I expect a tourney in the next 2-3 years. I expect a sweet 16 by year 4. If we don’t have that , are we ready to look else where.

For someone who watches has much basketball as you claim, you have no idea how coaching transitions work. After reading your posts I feel less educated about basketball and this team. It's impressive!

It’s honestly hard to have a rational discussion with you because everything is either the best or the worst, and there is no in between. You also aren’t willing to give in at all. Like saying jarron is perfectly heath when everyone can clearly see he’s not the same player. It’s hard to have a conversation with someone that does this. If you want to say he should be better, even with that, that’s completely fair. But not having a heathy player of the year on a team that doesn’t have many of those players is obviously going to effect the team.

I’ll have a discussion and argue all day. It’s fun, but to be takin serious you can’t say stupid stuff repeatedly. Giving up on a coach before he coaches a game is dumb. Which many on here did. I don’t care who the coach is. Siting stats that only give one side, and ignoring the whole other side is also dumb. Which is done almost daily on here. Claiming guys that can’t even get on the court at lower level programs are the answers is also dumb. Brannen has plenty of things that can be questions, these ones don’t even make sense.

First of all, do you understand what it takes to recruit a 5 star kid to cincinnati, if you were a 5 star kid why would you come? What’s the draw? You guys are so fake that y’all don’t underdatand that what Mick did was incredible, no violations over his years here, and was huge at finding diamonds in the rough. Oh yea and somehow some freaking way getting in to the tournament with a at large bid.

It’s time to be honest about what we are and what kind of sports city we are, we run all our coaches out even when they are making the most out of what they had. Like many of you have said cronin started in the Big East and competed year after year, then once he got in the American we basically dominated
Shared with Louisville our first year then spent the last 3 years winning the league weather regular season, conference tourney, or both. Back to back 30 win seasons, and lost 17 games in 3 years. We lost 10 already this year...and we are in the freaking American, atleast when we were getting our teeth kicked in it was by Louisville and Syracuse, now we get smacked by Colgate and Bowling Green, it’s hard to win games, one thing you could never say about Mick is that we were gonna fight hard, or you would get yanked.

Y’all do happy with this guy but everyone has taken a step back. Who has he made better?
He brought a non athletic center to a league of athletes. Conference play definitely chewed him up and spit him out.
Our player of the year went from unguardable to not being able to score 15 efficiently, why, cause his system sucks, he had Jarron in the best position to score and be a better player because as we see now nobody else really can, so Cronin being smart maximized that and we won that way, I would be mad to if I came back off a year where I was dominate but because this guy has a point to prove we gonna take me out what made me successful. He ran them into the ground before the season even started which is why everyone is hurt, there’s a way you go about getting ready for the season but he stuck his nose at that too. Jarron was never ready to play health wise and Brennan didn’t make it any better.
He arrogant and I can’t stand it.

Y’all got so caught up in this new guys system when we don’t even have guys to run stuff like that. Half of them party to much to remeber what they did last night let alone a play. And you want them to be people they aren’t. Mick didn’t put people in situations he knew they couldn’t thrive in he limited mistake and this new coach was a jerk from when he walked through the door.

He removed everyone that had anything to do with winning, people that know the season, remember they had that trainer or manager that used to work out the bigs with those pads, I haven’t seen him all year, people like Jaquan Parker or Mark Burger who could probably be a safe person for guys to come to, people that know the grind in being a high major D1 team expected to win not NKU where three games out the whole year mattered, which is why he’s getting humbled now, and save me the bs with his Dad dying, stuff happens anytime you get a loss in the family it’s tough, but y’all didn’t care while Mick was getting divorced and almost lost his life, so I really don’t care what this coach has going get it together and pout in your off time.

And for you that think Brennan is in a worse position than cronin was end are blind, cronin had nobody literally was so close to asking fans to come to open try outs because he had no team and still competed better than these guys. Cronin left us better all around, top of the conference, new arena, new reputation and lastly nothing much than the former player of the year and the pre season player of the year. To see anything else is literally a joke

We are getting what we asked for, we cry complain at someone doing things hardly ever school has done and has made us relavent agian, but of course we are ungrateful fans who never understand what we have until it is gone. I’m rooting for him at UCLA, because we gave him crap from the day he walked in, so I’m happy he’s in greener pastures now.

Good luck getting people to read this book. I’ll responded to the first paragraph. I’ve never seen anyone on here say we should be getting 5 stars. I’ve never seen that once. Like I’ve also said, most people on here think mick was fine or even good. We just aren’t crying that he left and continuing to worship him. He left. See ya.

I’m referring to the recruiting bs that people are saying, like you can just go out and build a player and hundreds of other schools exist. But whatever don’t read the truth is there just another ungrateful fan clearly enjoy losing for the next 10 years

You’re like th ex boyfriend that Is constantly talking about how great your ex was. They don’t want to be with you anymore!!!!
