Mick has come out and said that the lineup could be adjusted. Who you think?

Cash
Dion
Sean
Thomas
Gates

IMO is our best group of players. Small tho.

One thing that really bugs me about Micks lineup is, he always starts the second half with the starters. I have never liked that. Go with whose hot and whats working. Just my two cents.

I think you are right that Bishop may be replaced but I don't know if SK is going to be the one to get the minutes. I think you could see Larry Davis get the start. He has been shooting well and his defense is solid. I think Mick likes having offense off the bench and SK is the most reliable instant offense option off the bench. I think he will see more minutes though.

Cash
Dixon
Davis
Gates
Thomas

If Yancy is hurt you will probably see Wilks start at the 4.

The Bearcats are 11 deep, the players are interchangeable, who starts is not all that significant.

Dixon
Kilpatrick
Bishop
Jackson/Wilks
Thomas

these are the 6 that need to play a lot. You can use Davis and Cash to back up occasionally and Biggie in spurts for the big guys

Cash, Dixon, Killa, Thomas, Gates (Wilks for Gates if he can't go). They need more offense at the beginning of the game and Bishop just hasn't been providing any lately. By the end of the game, though, the minutes allocated will be the same as before. If the game is close at the end, your better defenders have to be on the court. Thus Bishop, Dixon, Cash, Thomas, and Gates will be on the floor. As they say, its more important who finishes the game than who starts.

I believe you need energy off the bench but your starters have to come mentally ready to play and execute.

Cash - adds a dimension the offense needs.
Dixon - most all around consistent player.
Sean - he is a BEast player.
Gates - got to have his size.
Biggie - I know a lot won't agree but he has size and imo played decent against big front lines of USF and 'Cuse. More than anything he only takes shots right at the basket. We need that. He can also block shots.

Davis, Wilks, Thomas, Bishop give you energy off the bench. Love Jackson but he is horrible at the ft line. Can't have that. He gets foul trouble and spot minutes. I run 9 deep consistently. Dixon and Sean can rotate at the guard spots adding depth there.

Syracuse outscored the starters 32-3 combined to start both halves. Your wrong again.

NTS - interesting lineup...

I'm really tired of Gates inside. If they are going to have big men play like pansies they might as well go small and really to try pressure on the perimeter ala Nova years ago.

I can agree with this. That is whats so exciting about Jackson... Hes so raw but a year in the weight room with mr clean should be fun :D

1.Cash
2. Dixon
3. Killa
4. Wilks
5. Gates

And to think outside the box a little, I would also be okay with this one:

1.Cash
2.Dixon
3.Davis
4.Killa
5.Gates

Yeah, I know Davis would be a huge gamble at the three with his size against a true SF, but we need points from all 5 spots against ND. You could also start out in a press with this lineup.Subbing in Bishop/Thomas/Jackson/Wilks at the three for Davis. Same for Killa at the 4. Like I said, just thinking outside the box a little.

No way Bishop is benched for killer. NO way. I am not saying it as my opinion, I am saying you never bench your best defender. You do not bench a 4 year starter.

The change will be Wilks in for Thomas because ND has such good outside shooting big guys. It will go back to normal after that IMO

Plus Mick has stated numerous times that any changes would not be disciplinary but rather for strategy.

Also I think Mick values having a scorer coming off the bench.

On the Mick Cronin show someone called in asked about the slow starts to the halves and Mick specifically mentioned Killa and that are still trying to figure out how to gameplan for Weds, as far as who starts. He said it basically comes down to, do they want ND to adjust to us, or do we want to adjust to them? Meaning that ND really spreads the floor and makes it hard on bigger teams.
I think we may see Thomas or Gates on the bench.

What about this lineup: Dixon, Davis, Killa, Bishop, Gates/Thomas

Go big on the guards and leave Bishop in?

11 deep isnt always a good thing. (You know the saying "when you have two quarterbacks your really dont have 1") Personally I think Cronin tends to sub a little too much--let the players get a little rhythm.

I can absolutely see your point here. Especially with Abromitis on the floor. That's who I expect Bishop will guard. It's entirely possible to see Dixon, Killa, Bishop, Wilks, and Gates (or if his ankle is really tender Thomas). After hearing gates is tender but fine, I'm guessing he will sit practices and play Wednesday. They will sit either Davis or Killa and bring them in for instant offense. Personally I think Sean has earned the right to play.

There are two for sure starters and thats Cash and Gates.. Even though Gates is not playing very well, he still is there best inside threat and even though he does not understand he is a physical speciman he can still be productive, just not as productive as he should be. Cash is definately the best option at PG and I think he can really be the X factor here with his speed and quickness, plus he will be guarding there best 3 pt shooter.
Heres my starting lineup.
Cash
Dion
bishop
wilks
Gates

I really like the intensity that Jackson brings and he is mobile enough to handle there bigs who can put the ball on the floor.. ND will be ready for this one for sure, will UC? If they can put two halves together then they will have the oppurtunity to knock off there first ranked team on the road. GO UC!!!!! On another note, i dont think it will be long before Killa is starting, it is fine for him to be the spark off the bench but Cronin is waiting to long to let him in. Bishop cant score and yes he is good defensively, but i think Whoever Bishop guards will be a matchup problem for him.

I love Killer. He is going to be a big big big timer for this program. I can't imagine mick sacrificing rebounds and defense.

You know this is tough. You could make a case for both Davis and Sean to have more playing time. Problem is the one on the perimeter you'd take it from is Cash, who I feel the team needs to play and play well. It's that or go with three guards and lose rebounding and some D. Sean is 6'3" and 215. Perhaps he can play the three and rebound better than we think. Maybe you move Dixon to the three and allow Sean to play the two. We know Dixon is a heck of a rebounder. There is a lot to consider. I just want adjustments to be made. Even if it's the same line up something within the dynamic must change.

I could really see the lineup being Cash, Dixon, SK, Bishop and Gates to start.

I think if they can run that lineup against anyone it would be ND. My second guess is Dixon, SK, Bishop, Thomas, Gates or maybe Wilks for Thomas, but I don't like this as much, I'd rather see Cash in there to control and run the offense.

It's going to be interesting to see what Mick does, could be a turning point in the season if what he does works. Could be a nice feather in his cap as well, or could end up being a thorn in his side if it backfires.
