L_T the issue is that if he delivers the ball his outside shot is not going to draw the double off the big. He really needs to improve that part of his game to really make it effective.

Here's the thing though Waite...watch what he does after he makes the pass. He doesn't just stand there trying to be a 3 point threat from the exact spot he passed it from like our other guards. He cuts baseline by our big through to the weak side to clear his man in an actual attempt at a motion offense. It isn't all about standing there waiting for the ball back to shoot. There are other ways to avoid the double on bigs.

I don't have a problem with that but it is much more effective if you pose a threat from the 3.

Absolutely not. It's why we we can out score teams in the paint and still lose.

Exactly, so it really doesn't matter who is making the entry pass, does it? If no one can shoot, might as well have Mormon throwing it down there since he is actually good at it.

I'm not sold on Mormon. He still takes too many shots for not being a good shooter. But I like how he attacks the basket and he's a good passer. Which is more than I can say about KJ, Shaq, and Sanders. At this point I think you need to give some more minutes to him, but not at the expense of Caupain and Cobb.

Completely agree. In fact part of u.c.'s whole offensive problem in other teams can lay of their man around the perimeter because we can't shoot. It jams up passing lanes, prevents penetration, etc... You can't have guards that shoot as bad as morman and kj.

Did I hear this correctly? Jermaine Sanders played four games against Xavier in his career and never scored a point? Wow.

Shaq or TC had no problem driving when they wanted to

Shaq attacks the rim

Then why don't they more often... why didn't he at the end of the game. I think they have serious problems being able to penetrate.

Pretty sure this guy has some serious problems being able to penetrate....

I think Morman has earned more minutes. If you can't shoot you have to attack the basket. He does that and his defense is very good. Go three guard with TC, Cobb and Morman.

Amen.

can't hurt - maybe it will provide a spark to the offense, much as it did after the crosstown brawl, when they had to go small in lieu of Yancy, Mbodj & Ellis

Time to move on now

I'm still stunned somebody actually believes Dayton is a better program than UC

13,015 attendance yesterday in below zero temperatures to watch the Flyers play an 11-13 Saint Joseph's team with a 6:00 tip-off. I know someone who works in Dayton, commutes from Cincinnati, and was stuck in game traffic. Coming off an elite eight, currently 29 in RPI and first place in a conference ranked higher in RPI than the American. Even if RPI is a flawed metric, it's the one the committee uses to determine seeding. Archie looks to be posting-up for the long-term, i.e., Shaka at VCU, while Brian Gregory is down in Atlanta kicking himself for leaving. Dayton is a very underrated job. There's a reason Mick won't schedule these guys. Whatever brand equity UC might hold over UD, the gap appears to be closing.
