That's definitely true of every fan base. However there is enough data to backup the claim things are not nearly as bad as some make them out to be after an emotional loss. But we do have enough data on the other side that suggests some things need work. Im just hoping Mick's GM analytical role serves as a springboard to those changes that are needed.

I hope Mick is seeing all this from another angle and improves on some areas as well. Like I said I think the recruiting is slowly changing. But Mick needs to make tweaks to his system, not completely change the entire thing.

If KJ starts, Morman doesn't get 20 minutes, and Troy walks it up the floor more than 1 time in a row, I don't think I'll be able to watch the Houston game this weekend.

Troy walking ball up court like turtle has nothing to do with us losing or only scoring 50pts

The guys turn the ball over at a high rate because they aren't good at holding on to the ball. To blame that mostly on running a half court offense seems silly to me.

Stuff isn't working lately because the players are playing bad. The team is going through a rough stretch. We didn't come back last night because we completely changed our philosophy. We came back because we ran an efficient offense and the guys played better.

There should be a 24-hour non posting rule for each game we lose in a row. People freak the heck out when things are going poorly.

The players who are playing bad have been playing bad for long enough. It doesn't make sense to keep running these same guys out there. This isn't an emotional response to last night, it is something a lot of us have been saying for a while. I mean, we lose @UConn and @Memphis, so we pull the plug on Shaq. Fair enough. But now we've lost 3 straight and 4 out of 6...and KJ is over his season average in minutes in this span. What gives? He is playing worse than Shaq ever has. Why is asking for someone else so unreasonable? I'm not willing to sit here and lose games and say "Well yeah, another bad one for KJ and Sanders. Hopefully they suddenly get way better." Our season is slipping away. We need to make some tweaks.

I don't think we've ever had the guards to play uptempo effectively. We are always complaining how bad they are on the break, so more of that without the right pieces might not be the best path to victory. Having said that, there's no reason to play this slow. I still contend that passing is the biggest weakness of this program right now. With better passing comes more open, high-percentage shots and a lot fewer games in the 50's.

Cash, Dixon, Parker was best group in open court. Weird saying that how horrible dixon was on break

We've been trying to rebuild this thing using "combo guards". They have been decent at ball handling but not great. We sure could use a true point (Jennifer) so we can move a guy like Caupain over. Putting Cobb out there with Caupain would be half the battle since they can play a little of both. KJ has been very one dimensional and he's not been great at that one dimension.

I think (hope) Evans will add the other dimension we are looking for on the wing. I think we are 1 year away from being really good and 2 years from being great.

Completely disagree. Caupain likes to push and is good at it, Mick doesn't want him to.
Why every other guard push ball? Davis LITERALLY waves arms telling him to go. Mick said before game defense alone wasn't going to win that we needed score points. He smart enough to know you can't score walking ball uo court

KJ did only play 14 minutes last night. His lowest total since the 2nd game of the season.

I've heard Mick say the opposite on his radio show recently.

Mick says lots of things. There have been enough times in Caupain's career when he's gotten out and ran and done a good job at it. Mick clearly tells his teams not to get out in transition the majority of the time.

It is actually the exact opposite. You should listen to his radio shows.

Again Mick says lots of things to the media. Every year he says we will play up tempo. This year he said you wouldn't have to worry about offense at all with this group but they would struggle at defense. Nobody should ever listen to what any coach in any sport says to the media.

Cincinnati this season...

When NEITHER team scores 70
UC = 11-8

When EITHER team scores 70
UC = 6-1

Are we sure that slow tempo has nothing to do with it?

Ellis and Deberry graduate next year. We really need to find a five man by then. If GG does not return we should use that last scholarship to get the best big man we can find in the spring.

but does that have to do tempo or with efficiency.

Both. We are inefficient as a slow tempo team. I don't really know how else I can spell that out for you. The 11-8 ratio isn't going to magically change over the course of the rest of the season. That # is real. It is the result of the approach we are taking the majority of the time. And it's not good enough.
