Huge game. NOT a must win IMO. We need to have at least 1 win to keep our heart beating in the next 3.

2 out of 3 gives puts us on the good side of the bubble.

3 out of 3 puts us in without question.

0 out of 3 all but ends it.

WVU is RPI #5. Winning a game at their place would do so many things for us. It will increase our SOS no matter what. Our RPI would jump to 45 range... (Guessing).

Most importantly it might finally shut up all the fans who are still screaming about Huggs.

Lancey played well last game and I think that continues. Deonta steps up and I think we are where we were in Maui.

After seeing WVU play multiple times this year, fortunately for us this is a verrry winnable game. We can all agree our strength is being able to play defense. WVU struggles at times to put together consistent offense. This team is very streaky but really struggles when you make them play half court offense.

This is also a smaller big east team that hopefully we can get an inspired effort from Yancy. I harp on this every week but our team will go as Yancy does. He is the most dominant player on our team and hope we have a repeat performance from last year.

Overall my keys to the game....slow down and make WVU run offensive sets. FEED the beast that is Yancy Gates.

I think we play an inspired game and at the very least make it come down to the last minute. We need this and we play up to our competition, and luckily we have WVU and huggybears number! Feed Lance and Yancy and hope they have a game like they did last night. Lets hope to make it 3-0 boys!

The only thing I would add is that we need to contain the limited penetration WVU has on its team (i.e. Truck Bryant). Butler is more of a shooter and one dribble guy. Ebanks is a slasher. Jones is a shooter or in the paint type player. Bryant is the only player that will put it on the deck and really challenge you with the dribble. We need to limit him in the lane.

Yep....we can really disrupt this WVU team if we get in their chest and guard them. Would love to see a very physical UC team. This WVU team strikes me as soft....very uncharacteristic of huggy bear teams.

Two things I'd like to see:

1. Made ft's
2. A victory
3. Huggins sporting the yellow suit.

Exactly. I get the feeling they're soft too, probably because they are a jump shooting team. I don't mean 3s, but they don't kill you in the paint.

I agree with your earlier comment that the game will be ugly and in the high 50s-low 60s.

We cannot win without Lance and Yancy combining for 40 points. Write that down.

i disagree with the 40 points from lancey. I think if we can get a wild card. If Deonta hit 3 threes or larry davis or something. That is what we need to happen.

Wow 20 a piece??? If they go for 40 combined I will gurantee a win!

In order for us to win this game it is going to have to be all around ugly. If this game stays in the 50's we can win the. I dont like our chances if its in the high 60's or 70's.

DV will be a huge defensive liability against WVU. His confidence is not there. I would love to seem him phased out this game. Cash and LD are the ones I would turn to for a wild card.

Lancey as you like to call it is our key to this game. BA1 is right that we need them to step up....just not sure they can give us 40pts.

Who said anything about 20 each?

This just shows the thought process of a feeble mind. :D

Well that would be the average that both of them need to get in order to reach 40. You say who you thought would/should have a better game so I take that as expecting EQUAL production.

Statistics classes are great learning tools even for us feeble minded people.

I'm just disappointed that you "assume" that each would need to get 20.

I think Lance has the potential to go off more than Yancy.

Stop being a glib!

Saying you need 2 players to score a combined score means that you expect EQUAL production. 22/18 or 24/16 not 32/8. Its useless to mention them both needing to score a combined 40pts unless you think they are both going to contribute. If you single out two players then its fair to assume equal production unless told otherwise.

I know Matt Lauer went to my alma mater but not sure i'm being glib.....maybe just being correct ;)

I think this would be a good spot for Yancy. Coming off his season high and playing against a primarily man to man team that doesn't have any 1 guy that should be able to handle him.

What I would love to see from him in this game is to want the ball and make yourself a target. I honestly believe our other guys look for him and he is not creating an oppurtunity for himself to get touches.

If he makes himself an option he will get the ball and get points and we can win. If he's invisible Saturday, we have no chance.

Just my 2cents.

Talk about a prime-time dbag!

I'm messing you with ouBearcat. I agree with your equal production comment. I do not think each goes for 20. I merely meant that they better complement each other on the score card.

I'm not a Matt Lauer fan either. Quite an arrogant guy who has absolutely no reason for arrogance. He hosts a morning talk show that middle aged women love.

I know you're just messing with me....i was simply being facetious. Agree they complement eachother well but I think Yancy has a better chance to dominate than Lance. WVU will do everything to shut down Lance's ability to get in the lane and slash. Not sure they have an answer for Yancy if he decides he wants to Sh$t on them.
