'12 IN PF Mitch McGary

He has never excited me much. Granted, I don't know a whole lot about him but what I do know I don't like a whole lot.

Had a nice game last night against Bridgton Acadedmy scoring 12 points and pulling down 11 boards.

One report has his top five as Arizona, Marquette, Indiana, Xavier and Cincinnati. Visits to Maryland, Texas and Arizona are said to be in the works.

Sounds like Mitch is about to blow up:

I couldn't help but think of Kevin Love while watching McGary. Like Love he controls space and snags rebounds and passes with one hand. McGary physically punishes opponents, plays with great composure with the ball in his hands and fires off outlet passes. McGary isn't nearly the outside shooter that Love is but he is more mobile, a little longer and is more of a playmaker off the dribble in the open court.

Looks like UC is cultivating multiple options for the big men in the 2012 class with Macon, Hammons and McGary right at the top of the wish list.

Speaking of Brewster, head coach Jason Smith has a plethora of schools lined up to watch his next stud. Arizona, UConn, Duke, Florida State, Maryland, Syracuse & Texas are all scheduled to watch 2012 forward Mitch McGary work out next week. The list will continue to grow as McGary put in a good weekend on the AAU circuit.

(As a side note he will be in to visit the Cincinnati campus in the near future as well)

this kid would be a BIG get. a great replacement for yancy, who will be able to step in right away and put up solid numbers

I remember a while back where he said he wanted to play in the Big East, but this was before he "blew up." Hopefully being in the Big East and being one of the first schools involved keeps us in it till the end. McGary and Hammons would be a lot to handle down low together.

A lot of VERY good options on the board for 2012... I just hope with the limited number of scholarships available next year Mick is able to focus/prioritize his time and hit a couple home runs- Macon; Hammons; McGary...
