Piggy backing off of articles is one thing but trying to steal information reported by someone on another board is another.

What information did he steal? Not sure I understand all the bragging that this site is free yet you get mad if someone takes your info. If you don't want free info taken, don't make it free.

Jeff and I had discussed Bail is a long shot and prolly wouldnt leave the southwest and nowhere in my posts have I said Bail is coming or UC or has strong interest in becoming a Bearcat.

If it may come down to Baylor and Cincinnati that it's pretty safe to assume their is strong interest in Cincinnati.

everytime i see that chad dude post on here he has his panties in a wad. When reading the original post never once did I think to myself he's a bearcat(Bail). 32 was basically describing a slim possibility with Bail. Obekpa on the other hand, many are aware there is mutual interest and a decent if not good shot at landing him.

The thing about recruiting is that it is fluid. We as fans usually only know a small piece of the story about a recruitment. We can speculate about what we hear but in reality there is much more going on than we know. Mick said it last week on his radio show, that sometimes he recruits a kid for 3 years and doesn't get him and on the other side he can recruit a kid for 3 months and land him. Using Bail as the example we dont have much on his interest in UC. But if someone hears that Cronin is contacting him I want to know about it. Kansas is said to be the favorite but they may have a scholarship issue not to mention they just signed a similar player in Andrew White (One that we were after pretty hard) Other big 12 schools are involved as well. But Bail has dropped in recruiting rankings much as Jeremiah Davis did. I dont think its out of the realm of possibility that Cronin could get in late and at least get an official visit out of this kid. The BEAST and UC now has a lot to offer. With that being a possibility I am all for discussing this possible recruit. If he commits to Kansas tomorrow, oh well onto the next. What did it hurt? Conversation is good. Speculation is fun. Anticipation of signing a good recruit is exciting. Losing a recruit sucks. All of that is encompassed is what we try to do on a site like this. If we just posted about only the guys who we were sure we were going to get it would be much more boring. The speculation is what makes this so damn fun. If you have info share it, if you have an opinion share it, dont disparage others who do. Love this site and the mods do a fantastic job.

I can understand why someone like Chad who runs a paysite and has direct contact with recruits would be upset when someone with "unnamed" sources posts stuff with no references and just claims things about recruits that have no interest in UC

My sources are unnamed but if you'd like I will point them out to you... a friend of mine whom I graudated high school with works at ESPN and mostly edits stories for ESPNU, my 2nd source I cannot devulge for his job security and my 3rd source is a former writer for Rivals.com.

So just because Chad says there's no UC interest then he's automatically right EVEN though the stuff he posts are considerably vague and vanilla?

I do not think BCL is threatened by this site because this site doesn't have the contacts they do.

the-one-32, I appreciate your post and enjoy reading them. I have no idea why Mr. Bendel thinks it neccessary to edit post on this site but being it is a free site I'm sure he is more than welcome. My thought would be, his time would be better spent upgrading BCL. It is very apparent that condesending and insulting posters on this site is not going to generate interest in BCL. What generates membership is good quality information that is of interest to its readers. The fact that this is a free site and apparently rivals his paysite is a major concern of his. Not very Professional Chad.

It is you guys who deserve our thanks. I have played and followed sports all my life. Having a free quality site to visit and discuss our favorite teams is very nice. Do i think everything posted is Gospel of course not. Its that Speculation that generates to interest and conversation. You guys do a great job. I would tell the people who want to complain don't visit.

Thats my point at the beginning of my post. You have no idea what the mutual interest is. Especially if it just is being reported that Cronin is going after somebody. Just because YOU havent seen anything doesnt mean anything. Until the prospect comes out and says he is not interested in UC he is up for speculation. There is a difference between misinformation and intent to deceive. When you are relying on a source from somewhere else misinformation is going to happen. Id rather hear it than not. What did the misinformation hurt? The intent to deceive is another matter. If people are coming on the board and saying Austin Rivers is committing to UC just to get a rise or attention then that I agree is a problem. But being pissed that someone reported info that turned out to be wrong is just counterproductive to conversation. This isnt a test with right and wrong answers. Its a world of speculation and that means a grey area. Appreciate the process or you are going to be pissed a lot.

No recruit has ever had no one left, as you say. Especially someone that is good enough to be recruited by Kansas. You seriously think that UC would be the only school that would want this guy? C'mon.

It's nice to know the guys that are out there that might fit the mold of a Bearcat, whether or not UC is at the top of the list and recruiting them hard, or is a backup plan with little interest at this point. Things change in a heartbeat. UK has made a living the past few years swooping up guys at the last minute. No reason to think Mick doesn't have a plan and there may be a few diamonds in the rough.

I'm sure Chad has some good contacts and nice insight. But we all know by now that Mick has kept his recruiting cards pretty close to the vest simply because it's not in his best interests to always be ostentatious about his recruiting targets. Maybe you have to be overt with Obekpa, less so with Rubles. I'm more than happy to check here every so often, or simply wait to see who commits.

Lance had serious interest in UC and that was much later in the game where not as many schools had room. However, Mick had recruited him way back in his early high school days.
