thats only negative you could think of? was that juco's arent as good now? the kid played with alot of good players he didnt need score 30 pts game. He also shot 50 percent from the field and led the team in rebounds. Also when he played with less talent year before he averaged over 20 when will recruits quit bein judged on offense alone. if you go off of just offensive numbers what point even tryin for obekpa

ya its almost disgusting anymore the negativity. makes you wonder if some people would rather be miserable with there teams rather then enjoy. Its like we all forgot we made sweet sixteen on DEFENSE ya the word DEFENSE not OFFENSE

Is anyone concerned that both Obekpa's AAU team as well as St. John's are both Nike schools?

Oregon is THE Nike school...that could be dangerous too... I think that mainly pertains to only the elite recruits, since they are usually the ones inking big shoe contracts.

UC is the team to beat at this point. Things change but UC is in deep. Mick is working on closing the deal. He will visit Oregon next week.

Yeah you're right good recruiting classes don't equate to success do they? You're the sucker.

Your comments make no sense. You are not nor have ever been a college basketball coach. If you knew anything about recruiting you would be a college basketball coach. Mick was working as an instructor at 5 star camp when he was 19 years old. Mick has coached 4 teams to the NCAA Tourney. I will go with Mick's decisions on recruiting ever minute of every day over your know nothing opinions.

jeff, according to ESPN article it is rumored that Obekpa is leaning to Providence. Could this be true. Do you still think he is coming to UC. Thanks in advance for your response.

Most crediable sources are saying it is Cincy and St.Johns and most think Cincy...

Rivals said on Wednesday that Cincinnati is the team to beat. I think they're all going on hunches.

I think if he follows his heart he will be a Bearcat. If he follows the whispers in his ears he will not.

have to take it somewhat serious. there recruiting page is finally getting better and they have been right with all big names so fare. Providence is really stepping there game up to lately

Obekpa's recruitment in my opinion will come down to who has the final say. Not discounting he could fall in love with Oregon, but at this moment I believe he wants to be a Bearcat. His handlers are still wanting him to shop around. As I said, if he followed his heart today I believe, not know, he would be a Bearcat.

Someone just said to Jon Rothstein on Twitter: "Gun to your head, who lands Obekpa?" And he responded "Cincinnati".

Not exactly news, but good to hear as we wait for his actual decision.

I agree with you in that it comes down to his handlers and maybe what school will give him more exposure nationally. If it was obekpas decision I think he would have already committed. Obekpa has to convince his people that he wants to attend UC
