He was just there this weekend wasn't he?

No he was in Vegas at an AAU tournament and was planning on visiting after the tournament I believe. Huge news that he cancelled. I didn't think he'd go that far west but we all know Oregon is scary.

Chris Obekpa will not visit Oregon as originally planned tomorrow. The Ducks are no longer in the running.

Didn't see that, thank you. I didn't see them as much competition anyway, but still good to hear. I'm feeling pretty good about this. I would honestly be surprised if he doesn't end up being a Bearcat next season.

Mick was at his tournament all weekend. I wonder if that had anything to do with him cancelling the visit to Oregon?

I'm feeling better about this.

But why wait until May 5th at this point?

It is his moms birthday is why that date

Mick sees him for two games in Vegas and he suddenly cancels his visit. We may have a deal! Maybe Mick let him know about the Ennis situation and forced his hand. Obviously this is all speculation but all good signs. Never really thought Oregon was a great fit but their Nike connections always can cause concern. Glad he cancelled and hopefully he is ours come may 5th!

agree on things falling into place, but st johns still has more PT to offer even with sanchez in the fold.

This pickup would just be great because it would bring a high level center. Top 60 players are great. When they are Centers it is really great. Pretty much everyone can get good gaurds. Big men seperate mid majors and big time schools. This would help us continue to establish ourselves.

Q: Is Obekpa all but a done deal to Cincinnati?
Jon Rothstein: Looks that way.
