I am with you. I am checking out for a while. Trying to be civil is not worth it. Frustrating that a high school kid can make people act this way toward one another and their cities. God Bless America.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion , but I'm not exactly sure why you are saying these things. You just made a statement that said " sorry I like having quiet and everything a little cheaper". Cool man. Well I like spaghetti with one fork and not two . Lol...you sound like someone who hasn't ever been to NYC and even if you did, probably haven't been back since the 70's. NYC is the SAFEST big city in America. That's right...SAFEST. Many of the slums you seem to blindly talk about have been under gentrification. Even parts of Harlem are very nice now with new apartments filled with Columbia students. Subways do not smell like piss. Many subways are new. Much of the graffiti from the 80's has been washed away or painted over.
Manhattan is where the rich go to live, not hood rats unless they have rent control and pay next to nothing. Granted the South Bronx is still really bad and parts of Brooklyn like East New York is still bad, the overwhelming majority of NYC is very nice and upscale especially Manhattan. I do agree hipsters are annoying but they aren't known for being upstate...they are known for mainly being in Brooklyn. But we agree there. If you live in the city you don't drive so there is no "traffic for hours". The only time you will hit traffic is if you live in the NYC suburbs like LI or Westchester and even then it's not THAT bad if you know what you are doing.
By the way, on Long Island and in Westchester we are still next to NYC but we have enough space. Not every NYC sports fan live in NYC. Most live in the suburbs of NYC. I live in between the Hamptons and NYC so it's a great spot to be. If I want to go bar hopping there at night I hop on the train for an hour. If I want to go to the beach I drive 1 hour to the Hamptons. It's not ghetto around here either.

I think a balanced perspective, requires consideration, that your shit may stink also. I also like my surroundings, to not be grey, soul sucking, cement and some level of continuity, in terms of inhabitants.
In that regard, I really don't see the appeal. 8.4 million is a lot of people.
Like, given the geographical size of the city, an insane amount of people.
Likewise, you're welcome to your opinions. Just don't go onto another board and blurt some incoherent rubbish about "small cities".

OK Here's the thing. Cincy folks are bashing NYC. Chris Obekpa lives there-Hello! All you're doing is alienating him if gets wind of any of this. which by now I'm betting he has. SJU fans you're not doing yourself any favors by bashing the city of Cincinnati either. In the interest of both camps stick to discussing the schools or Chris if you're going to argue. I do have respect for Cincy though. I really came here to see if you guys had any updates lol. Obekpa is getting really annoying even as a SJ fan. I mean my god make up your mind kid. Both are good programs. There isn't a wrong choice here. I'm not sure if the rumors on our end are true...we keep hearing "SJ closer to getting commitment" but there is no explanation as to how or why. And we need to stop with the whole "your team is all thugs" stuff. Let's be real here...75% of NCAA basketball players are thugs. Tatted up, getting in fights, into the hip hop culture, doing drugs...come on most of them do that. It's nothing specific to SJ or Cincy. One team that REALLY did have a team of all thugs though was Binghamton a few years back when they made the tourney. They didn't care what grades the recruits got or what crimes they committed...they went all in and sold their souls for an NCAA appearance and now they suck.
I'll repeat this for you, I said you were douchie, not dangerous. Your mentality sucks and the smugness of this post is an excellent example as to why.

It's not just New York though, most of the northeasterners, are annoying.
Overly unionized, over-priced, ugly buildings, no real culture because, as I said before, you have no true continuity. Just tons of people living in the same place, from all over.
Your subways do smell. I was there last month. Yes, it's modernized, yes the new SAS will help, but there are still tons of a crazy ass people and people still piss on them. There are empty buildings and lots all over the god damn place and I don't care for it.
It's slightly better than Philadelphia,(which has tons of half done construction, burned out places like Detroit) if it's any consolation to you.

As for who it is to do it, I think you'd have to be pretty thick to live there in the first place, so I'm not shocked.
