Really? Let's have some class ourselves. Embarrassing.

I'm tired of having class when trolls from other BE schools and Norwood University come on here and epitomize classlessness at it's worst.

Wanna dish it out? Let's see if you can take it too.

Same way I feel about fighting terrorism. Let's chop a few muslim terrorist heads off and send'em back where they came from. They don't blink an eye doing it to us. They don't blink an eye, killing our civilians. But the USA has to play by the rules and play nice. It gets old.

Tired of being nice. No more Mr. Nice Guy. :D ;) (okay, some exaggeration in there, but you get my point!) :p

I am with you and know where you are coming from, I am part of that fight on a daily basis, and it is a struggle. I try to represent my University on the outside as respectable regardless of what others say, but behind closed doors and out of public site is where the real work is done.....

Man I hope Mick can get this kid. Having him, JJ, SK, Cash, and Parker pressing the floor and then defending the rim if need be is exciting to think about!

Nobody feels sorry for you. We know from experience. UC's b-ball program was destroyed by a rogue female school president who had more allegience to Ohio State than the university she was president of. It was the thing conspiracies are made of. UC lost 2 recruiting classes due to the timing of her firing of Huggins (who, by the way, I wasn't that much of a fan of).

But our crosstown rivals, the Norwood University Gangstateers, conveniently forget that everytime they beat their chests and proclaim how much better they are than us. Logic goes out the door.

So expect no pity from us. Been there done that.

One thing in all of this rebuilding though is that because of Mick, UC has done it the right way. No shortcuts. No cheating in recruiting. Handling tough situations with class.

UC's basketball program was destroyed by Bob Huggins. It was Nancy Zimpher who got UC into the Big East in 2003 when UC was not exactly high on the Big East's invitee list. Nancy Zimpher saved UC basketball and made UC football what it is today by getting UC into the Big East, and approving the hires of Mick Cronin and Brian Kelly and Butch Jones.

This is why I'm excited for the possibility. JJ was really coming into his own as a shot blocker towards the end of the season and doing it without fouling. He also started to show some decent offensive game as well with his quick moves past larger big men. It may be somewhat of an offensive struggle having those two on the floor at the same time but I think we could have the best front court defense in the country as far as guarding the rim.

LOL You're always good for a laugh or two aren't you?

Not sure why I'm even bothering to respond to Ralph, but here goes.

I have mixed feelings about Huggs. Loved his defensive schemes. Loved his high expectations of his players giving it all on the court. Loved his intensity and telling it like it is after the game. Hated his offense. Hated how he'd take a timeout and instead of making a plan, would use most of it to berate an official. Hated that he was a womanizer and drunkard. How in the hell a top level college basketball coach doesn't pay someone to be their designated driver, is beyond me. If you're making $1M plus, or geez, even $300,000........pay someone $40,000 to $60,000 per year to stay sober and get you around if you need to get blitzed routinely. But I digress. And based on his example of womanizing and drunkardness, it's no wonder his players gave the program a black eye by not going to class, not graduating, and getting in an excessively numerous amount of off the court incidents. I think Huggs wore out his welcome and deserved to be fired. I have no problem with him being fired. The timing of the firing was beyond stupid. Poorly planned in terms of the future of the program, which is dependent on recruiting. That is Zimpher's fault.

Did Zimpher do some good things? Well.........at the time I thought so. But UC is in a huge heap of debt right now, and I blame her. Joining the Big East was a great move, but if UC hadn't already had a tradition before Zimpher got here, academically and athletically, they would never have been given an invite anyway. Sure, she might have schmoozed a few people and had quality contacts.........but if UC had sucked previous to her arriving here, no way they get that invite. I'd give Bob Goin a nod athletically. I thought he got a raw deal on his way out. Academically, UC has always been very underrated.

Who joins the Big East in the midst of destroying their b-ball program?????

You give way too much credit to Zimpher.

I think I am going to Ralph on Ralph.

Now im hearing through twitter that his handlers didnt tell any schools about his grades and that they are pretty bad so eligibility might become his biggest problem. I say we just move on at this point.

Well, with that twitter news tidbit, it pretty much explains his reluctance to commit to a program, and puts college in serious doubt.

NBA draft anyone? Hmm.

First of all, we did reach 100 pages before a decision. Congrats all!

Next, looks like his handlers really didnt handle that situation now and he may not be going anywhere at all. Stinks for the kid but it is what it is and we shouldnt spend more time on it.

Why "move on"? To what exactly?

Move on to next years class and recruiting them. IMO the kid isnt worth it and hasnt been for a while. I would be overjoyed if he came here but if he doesnt we will still be fine next year with SK, Cash, Jaquon, JJ, Shaq, Cheik, etc.

Posted that he may have eligibility issues few days ago.

at this point, our best bet to use the scholarship on a big man for 2012 would be an unforeseen coaching change resulting in a transfer or a player released form LOI (similar to the Harrell situation that obviously did not work out). otherwise i think they are going to move on to 2013 with a short handed roster.

I see nothing tweeted about Obekpa from Telep.

Not today, not sure where he got that. But this is from May 18th:

Aside from Pollard or Harrell, most of the best available players, at this point, have academic issues.

A UC fan tweeted Telep asking if Obekpa had academic concerns and all Telep said was "yes."
