You might want to do some research on precedents set for that kind of situation (believe it or not, it wasn't the first--or even the worst--brawl to occur in college basketball), the suggestions that other schools' presidents/athletic directors made (not sure if SJU was specifically involved here or not), the opinions of Big East officials, how UC's president, athletic director, and Cronin went about figuring out the parameters of the suspensions, read/watch more of the background of the players involved, read about how Cronin made numerous attempts to prevent the situation before it happened, learn the added requirements that each suspended player had to satisfy besides just sitting out games, watch the entire sequence of events in that game before, during, and after the fight, remember that you'd have to handle the situation from the role of teacher/mentor not just coach/punisher while trying to create a good future for these college kids, etc.

I certainly hope he picks UC because he would be a luxery. Funny how St Johns gets these guys to be the stars of their team and then use it as the reason why they go 6-12 in the big east. When will they learn?

I agree! The decorum seems to be losing steam with each page. Obekpa will also be a luxury, albeit solid piece, to the Johnnies if he ends up in Queens.

You're right.
From an outsider's perspective, I think St. John's is a tough team to predict for the upcoming season. With such a young team it's hard to know how they will adjust to the rigors of the Big East. I'm not sure how heralded he was, but I think signing Orlando Sanchez was a nice pick-up. I wanted the Cats to end up with him. Darrick Wood could be an under the radar type of guy that could be a deep threat over the coming years. I'm happy we don't have to deal with defending Harkless next year but another season of development could have turned him into a lottery pick.

I agree. Another year might have been better for Harkless. Kid is projected as a top 20 pick though. He is doing what's best for his family so hard to knock him. St john's added some nice pieces in this recruiting class and should be better. Heck we couldn't be worse anyway. Looking forward to some good games vs the Bearcats this year. Should be a exciting season for both teams.
Don't take the bashing from a few as majority showing as it pertains to the Bearcat fan base. Like I stated before, whoever gets him, the other team has at least 2 times a year to prove he made a big mistake. I have always respected the Redmen from the days of old until now. Solid program that I want to beat every year. That simple.

I believe UC will be top 5 in the BEast and SJU will be in the back of that middle pack that battles for a NCAA spot every season. Good young talent and staff.

Wow, I sure hope not. I believe Mick would have had this conversation about qualifying at some point and how the rules apply to everyone.....most of the time!

1. Why is it that every SJU fan is banned on here? It appears the Cincy board is North Korea 2.0. What good is a board with 1 point of view and only 1 perspective? That is weak sauce, Cincy...very weak.
2. I don't understand why you guys think you have the rights to Obekpa. You do realize he went to HS on Long Island which is the NYC suburbs only 40 miles from SJU right? His friend is already on the team also. I'm sure his family really prefers to drive 45 minutes instead of 12 hours to see him play. There is also much more exposure for an NYC based team even with Cincy making the sweet 16 last year...the markets aren't even close nor is the hype. This likely has much more to do with his recent trend towards SJ than you guys thought.
3. I respect what you guys did last year, but please...the last time you guys won, my mother wasn't even alive and it was 25 years before I was even a sperm. Yes the 2 rings still count, but relax...Cincy is not a powerhouse by any means. They are a solid, good but not great team borderline top 25 even in successful years. Cincy is never mistaken for Nova, Cuse, or G'Town.
4. Either way no matter what happens I think this is getting ridiculous with this kid...he needs to make a decision already. If he goes to Cincy then good luck for you guys. If he comes to NYC then even better. But the whole thing is so messy.
5. Stop banning people for having different views. That is the most childish thing a moderator can do in a FORUM. A forum is supposed to encourage differing ideas and opinions. And stop calling NYC an "armpit". We have a world class, globally known city that is the biggest in the US and most well-known. You guys know it deep down...trust me I know.
