I'll take it off this thread after this. I'm not blaming him for all of our troubles. There are many more and in fact, that's why I maintian that Rubles needs to be a part of the offense. But I find it staggering that people feel he's been a good offensive player this year.

Seriously guys. I accept that Titus Rubles needs to be a part of the offensive attack because we are limited...especially when teams focus on Cash and SK. We need Rubles to step up and I agree he has shown flashes. And our only chance to make a serious run this year at this point is to have Rubles to be an offensive contributor. That doesn't mean that he is playing well offensively. He is not. 1.8 TO/game in 21.4 minutes/game is bad. Plus, he makes bone headed decisions a lot that aren't necessarily reflected int he TO department. A couple led to Villanova 3's last night and nearly let them back in the game. He shoots 10.8% from 3-point range and 32.2% overall.

I agree he needs to get the ball in the paint and dish off and finish around the basket. But he has not and is not playing well offensively this year.

And I don't think his performance know dictates how he is going to play next year. I think an offseason of work and his experience this year will help him immensely and I'm excited for his prospects next year. For this season though, my assessment on his current performance is above. I really hope he grows and take the next steps during the remainder of the season but so far...he is a mess offensively.
He is also limited by the guys he has to dish to. David N,Modjm, and gaines are not guys who finsih around the hoop. Most of the times this season that they have have come off feeds from Titus. Its possible his TO.'s are some what misleading because of who he throws to. If it isn't a dunk none of the three are gong to finsh at the hoop.

Zach Braziller ‏@NYPost_Brazille: Cincinnati commit Jermaine Lawrence will sit out the rest if the season per his physician. He injured his wrist on Saturday ...

Zach Braziller ‏@NYPost_Brazille: And will be rehabbing it. It's not same injury that kept him out for part of the season.

Was about to post the same thing from Brendel.

"5 star Cincinnati commit Jermaine Lawrence will miss the remainder of his high school season due to a bruised wrist. #Bearcats"

Hopefully it's just a precationary for next year.

Gotta feel for the kid. Sitting out your senior year would be just plain awful. I'll set the over/under on him (unjustly) dropping in recruiting rankings at 7.5 spots because of this. Hopefully he comes to Clifton on a mission to show what he can do.

anyone else besides me and David aka TYZ, wonder if UC's recent struggles will have any effect on Lawrence's attraction to UC?...he was quoted as saying he loved that the Bearcats played hard...besides Parker, there hasn't been much of that lately...i just hope he doesnt have any second thoughts, especially since he has not signed...lets hope not

That's why we need to find that scholly now and get him signed, before he can change his mind.

I tend to look at it the other way. He and all the recruits will have a chance to play right away. Keep in mind he's had a relationship with Cronin and Savino dating back to his freshman or sophmore year in highschool, a bad streak of games won't ruin that.

Of course anytime your team is struggling you worry about recruit perception, but I'm with you. I don't think he will flip.

I think he will be the best player on the team next year..... in my opinion...... if SK leaves

Jermaine defending his choice of school?

@mainestory
Don't judge my choices if you don't know or understand my reason. . .

Can't help but be excited about this guy (and the whole class).

Lawrence tweeted yesterday that 7th grade was his first year of basketball. Not that it matters, but I was surprised to hear that.

He would presumably be in school for all of our games until the semis, but as a senior, I guess he shouldn't care.
