Looks like Lyle might have a little interest now that he is seeing our success. Gave us a shout out on Twitter. Could be nothing but who knows thought I would share.

JaQuan Lyle (@JMamba5)
Shoutout to Oklahoma St, Kansas, Memphis, Cincy, and Providence for all coming to the game tonight..

Wouldn't that be one of the biggest recruiting upsets in recent memory? I would kill for either Lyle or Graham to come in and man the 2 next season.

Heck why not take them both!! Lyle at point and Graham shooting guard. Lyle is big time family kid. He's from Indiana would have to think that helps us out a lot with Indiana being a hop skip and a jump away.

Article from Paul Biancardi Jan 17th has us in the mix

I can't even imagine... we would be one of the deepest teams in the country. We would be 2 deep at every position, and possibly then some.

Next year will already be interesting depth-wise...

PG - Guyn, Caupain
SG - Johnson, Morman
SF - Thomas, Sanders
PF - Lawrence, Clark, Moore
C - DeBerry, Strickland

The more the merrier :) I would have to think its more appealing to Lyle because Guyn will be a senior next year so after that would leave him and Caupain running the team at point. Plus both Lyle and Graham are pretty tall guards could really get time at SG and SF too. I don't know I just want them all both are ridiculous athletes with tons of skill!

JaQuan Lyle is planning to visit Providence in early March, his mother told SNY.tv following a home visit in which she hosted head coach Ed Cooley and assistant Bob Simon at her home in Evansville, Ind.

“We plan on making a visit to Providence on March 3rd or 4th,” Lumecha Garrett told SNY.tv. “I work on the weekends so we’re trying to make some visits during the week if we can.”

She said Cooley and Simon were the first coaches to visit her in Evansville since the 6-foot-5 Lyle decommitted from Louisville and that she was impressed by that.

“Yes, it does [make] a big impression,” Garrett said.

Cooley and Simon were also planning to watch Lyle play Wednesday night at Huntington (W.V.) Prep.

“I like the program, I like the way he talks about the program, what he can do on and off the court with my son,” she said of Cooley.

Providence already has three commits for 2014 in small forward Jalen Lindsey, Lyle’s Huntington Prep teammate, power forward Ben Bentil and center Pascal Chukwu.

Lyle earlier told SNY.tv he plans on visiting Kansas and Oklahoma State, but no dates are set.

Lyle and his mother visited Oregon this past weekend and she, like him, said she enjoyed it.

“I liked the program, I liked the campus, the coaches were real nice,” Garrett said.

His mother said they were also considering UConn, Memphis and West Virginia.

Lyle said he’s planning on cutting his list soon.

Ironically, last June he cut his list to Indiana, Louisville, Tennessee and Florida – and now none of those teams are in the mix.

“I want to make sure he makes the right decision for himself because he’s the one that’s gotta be at that school for however many years he’s going to be there,” she said.

Nothing wrong with trying to catch lightning in a bottle while you are hot. However I would not get my hopes up on this one. We were cut early in the process and many see him as a favorite for OK ST and Kansas. We need to replace killa so why not. See if you can get him on campus for louisville later this month and see what happens.

Yea Eubanks wont be a bearcat. Chad had mentioned in an earlier thread about that being dead in the water early. He plays for New Savior American in NY the same high school as Chris Obekpa went too. There have seemed to be some bridges burned in that relationship to be as polite as I can about it. As for Lyle his recruitment has been nuts. He has been all over the place but with him saying he is going to visit Providence in early March means there is a lot of time to make up some ground. Cats are riding a high wave right now so might as well take a shot. Staff wants a big time scorer to help replace SK. There is PT available at SG for a team that is currently 7th in the country. Will be 4 straight NCAA's. He is from Indiana so its close. There is a lot to sell on top of all the regular stuff right now. Love that they seem to be taking a shot.

He committed to Louisvlle which caused Snider to decommitt and then he decommitted from UofL and Snider later recomitted to them. I agree that his recruitment has been odd, kid seems like a bit of a headcase...

I read somewhere that he canceled his visit to KU. That was just recently.

We all know Lyle is a long shot, but it is exciting to hear Cincinnati might still be going after him. With our recent success, crazier things have happened.

I like that this staff is being aggressive in recruiting. Between Lyle, Graham, and Mahmoud, that's 3 very talented recruits that we are targeting. If we can land one of them, I will be a very happy camper.
